Good Bye Reaktor, good bye NI synths

Supposedly 2025 is going to be the year of synthesis, or something along those lines. So I’m expecting at least one new synth, or possibly a substantial update to Massive X, which is long overdue (and more likely, I think).felis wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 11:34 pmWhat are their promises?nanostream wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 12:45 pm .......Now they just have to deliver on their promises, heh.
In the long run they have to deliver Reaktor compatibility updates, if necessary.

I like Massive X, but there's a few things I'd like to see updated with it.
I've had Reaktor forever, but it's never been one of my favorites.
I haven't had good results trying to make stuff, but there's some very good things others have made for it.

Promises aren't ever real when VC gets involved lolnanostream wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 12:45 pmNot only that, we just don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I certainly don’t. Maybe he—or Martijn Zwartjes, Stephan Schmitt or Volker Hinz for that matter—is a DSP genius, but lacks in other areas and is difficult to work with for example, I don’t know. There’s a reason NI as a company and, by extension, Reaktor is a convoluted mess, it didn’t start when the VC bros took over (or when Vadim started to work for NI).
I’m also quite sure there’s still some top talent left at NI, so maybe a fresh start is for the best in the long run. Now they just have to deliver on their promises, heh.

I’m basically in the same boat, but still consider Reaktor one of my favorites. I’ve never been a builder myself — I can’t possibly compete with something like Monark, Form or those lovely Toybox Audio blocks, and I don’t need to. I just love all these great ensembles floating around and don’t want to lose them.felis wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 5:10 pm I like Massive X, but there's a few things I'd like to see updated with it.

Crazy idea: what if NI releases a new Reaktor based synth? That would build almost as much trust as a 7.0 update, but would require significantly less work on their part. I’m not holding my breath, though.

Reaktor AI - tell it "make me a synth that can do this".nanostream wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 9:52 pm .....Crazy idea: what if NI releases a new Reaktor based synth? I would absolutely be into vibe coding reaktor ensembles! Take the oscillators from ensemble x and ensemble y, and the filters from ensemble z and add fm modular in n of the filter. Etc. would be great fun.felis wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 12:11 amReaktor AI - tell it "make me a synth that can do this".nanostream wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 9:52 pm .....Crazy idea: what if NI releases a new Reaktor based synth? You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

I downloaded the original .massive because at The end of last year they made it resizable. Good point to NI!
Unfortunately i also downloadeD massiVE X, and updated my older komplete kontrol version to the newest version.
CURRENT VERSION OF MASSIVE X IS ALWAYS CRASHES WHEN YOU MOVE SOMETHING IN THE OSC SECTION.
THE NEW KOMPLETE KONTROL BARELY WORKS, NOW I HAVE TO REINSTALL MY V2.X VERSION!
So i will put all ni plugins to blacklist and let only an older kontakt and an older komplete kontrol exist in my environment.
ITS SUCH A SHAME THAT THEY MESSED UP THESE "above the average" PRODUCTS, AND MADE THE USER EXPERIENCE HORRIBLE.
EVEN HALION IS OPERATING BETTER, despite you have download a dowload manager, activation manager, library manager , who the fu#k manager.....
And this is why i will.forever stay with my komplete12 and not spend a cent on their softwares in the future.

One more thing: komplete kontrol s61 mk2 keyboard lcd screens somehow are showing the starting screen and not the relevant screen _ opened a support ticket for this. The keyboard is recognised, but the screens dont show. So i can control the software, though the screens are not changing.

I think part of the problem is that the Reaktor Manuals are not developed as an electronic labs course like the old Radio shack Forrest Mims little manuals. Yes you can hook up wires here and there, but that isn't the way an electronics lab bread-boarding book would teach it. I subscribe to both O'Reilly Books online and Perlego Books and the beauty that comes from Non simplicity complexity is interesting in both libraries but none of it is taught as easy simple. There needs to be an electronics assembly Electronic Music
Circuit builder course and I don't see one. My coordination is too poor to do this stuff in real life, but I have paged through mathematica, Maplesoft and Electronic Books and they are much harder than the pretend stuff that most people say. It'is like learning Python and Anaconda and setting an environmental path variable. I tried it 5 times and wrecked previous work that had been successful. So I am careful.

I am a disabled hobboyiest and I can read, and take dictation pretty well. But the circuit knowhow is kind of still a non-spoken art. We as musicians should study rhythms and take that stuff into account.
