What I am suggesting is that channel routing by Tracktion is not necessary, unless you wanted to be able to "re-route" the MIDI channel.
yes, but unless you use a rack in Waveform, you can only send the MIDI from a track to one other track. thus the receiving track has to use an instrument that can play different sounds on different channels. which is fine, but limiting.

the rack solution allows you to send the midi by channel to different instruments on different tracks.
Ah, yes. I was assuming that we could use the virtual MIDI inputs for each additional track, but virtual inputs only recognize external hardware, not internal tracks. So if you need more than one secondary track, then racks would be the correct solution.
i was really hoping you were going to show me a better way, but at least it works with racks.

which means all I need now is for Wotja to start sending the MIDI in Waveform and it's -->

Pete
:phew: Thats really good news

It is really rather fun that you can exchange mixes / albums etc. - provided they don’t use the hosted plug-ins - across all Wotja-supporting devices. That is a major advantage of our cross-platform Audio engine, of course!

I gather than not everybody realises that Wotja is available for *all* the following:
- iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod) ... with watchOS remote-control app
- macOS
- tvOS (Flow player only - no user content)
- Windows
- Android

The iOS/macOS/tvOS variants all come as "once price gets all", as well.

I've created a new Thread on the topic of MIDI routing from Wotja 22 in Tracktion here:

Weird that Tracktion doesn't seem to have a File -> Save As menu option; for when I want to save the project I'm editing under a different, new file name! Hey ho :)

Does the Wotja 22 pro version export midi?
If so, does it save it to file, or is it drag and drop to track within the daw?
I saw some kind of midi function tab in the demo, but it stated it was for the pro version only.
How does that function work?

@impete:

There is another dialog that can get "hidden" behind the main window in the stand-alone:

If you go to Settings and change the Audio Output (for example, from Realtek speakers to Realtek Headphones), a dialog correctly pops up on top of the main window stating: "Audio Output Device will now update - please wait"

After waiting, a second dialog stating: "Audio Output Device Settings have been updated" is drawn under the main window and is thus hidden, causing it to appear to be hung.

I believe there is midi export. Correct me if I am wrong.
Yet this message in the features list has me questioning the degree of midi capabilities.
*- Mix Recording to MIDI (App only)
Does that mean that only the standalone version (on mac os in this case) can export midi to tracks?

Thanks - also fixed by the same general fix! :)

but i am using 22.0.6.

isn't that the version that was supposed to include the "hidden" dialog fix?

Hi!

Wotja is a real-time MIDI generator (so you can output to MIDI device, or via the MIDI Routing in your DAW if you're using the VST3 version of Wotja).

The app version of Wotja also allows you to "record" directly to MIDI file, as some users find that useful.

Yes, it is correct that the app variant is the one that allows this "direct recording to MIDI file".

Both the app and VST3 come in the same bundle; you can use either one, depending on what you're trying to achieve at any given point.

I hope that answers your question!

Best wishes, Pete

Nope, that is still in testing. It'll release as 22.0.7 or later - depending on what is shown-up by the internal testing process.

super confused right now: in the windows app store it says:

FIXED: Windows "file save" alert could be hidden behind the Wotja App

and i am running that version (22.0.6).

so it seems there is a different general fix in 22.0.7 that you refer to.

Anyway:glad to hear it is fixed in the next version.

Hi! Yes, there was a particular Alert related to file saving that could appear behind the main Window; that was indeed fixed in 22.0.6.

All the other alert problems are fixed in the next release, which we're still testing :)

Thanks.
I just bought it after my last post.
Question. Under Actions, in the standalone, the icon has various actions.
To save a midi file, do I save as a mix or box file?
