This is a great suggestion, but perhaps even better might be using the Pigments model and coming up with something more ground-breaking in the realm of drum synthesis/resynthesis?
For it to truly be useful for drums, it really needs a multi mode where you can layer sounds and sequences on top of each other, like Omnisphere.

I wonder if Arturia will introduce new oscillator modes, like the oscillator sections from the Minimoog, Prophet etc. They have all the pieces.

Pigments has an insane untapped potential, and I can see it eventually becoming the major softsynth on the market. Especially if Arturia keeps delivering each update for free like they've done so far.

Roland JX-V thing with MKS-70 thrown in, needs to happen, because Roland sure as hell ain't bringing no JX-8P ACB, and Martin also won't update his freebie JX-8P thing, so c'mon Arturia, on the tap as soon as December comes. JX will make me want to upgrade regardless what else you deliver with V10, just do JX and I'm on board.

Would be nice if they also fix their Wurli in the way Modartt fixed theirs for Pianoteq 8. So much better now. I heard Arturia sneaked the tech from Modartt anyway, as far as their mechanical pianos go, so I'd expect them to take some lessons from Pianoteq 8 again.

Upgrades for Matrix-12 and ARP 2600 would be nice. I heard calls for Mini V4 update, but isn't Mini V3 already on the money?

As for the rest, V9 was seriously frugal on new synths, they did a lazy hack job last time, so I expect them to fix that shit with the time they bought themselves with V9 and deliver some cool stuff for V10. I have a feeling they will bring Synthex V, at least, but there really should be a second new synth as well.

I wish Voyetra Eight was something actually doable and not such a clusterfuck of a synth, because the sound is obviously mountain-shattering. Voyetra V would really be a head-turner for many.

Wish they also bring Quadra V, as I'm not into any cherry-flavored synths, myself.

What's wrong with it?

Fine... but small (UI).

First and foremost, compatibility.

I never really understood why Spark got left in the dust. I think the v2 was released like ten years ago. I can understand they wanted to consolidate their line of controllers, but the Spark software had an interesting foundation. Mixing samples and drum synthesis is a damn powerful technique.

Yeah, hopefully the time comes when they do it. They have a solid stream of new sound/preset packs going on, and such sample based products(possible Spark v3, Emulator, CMI etc..) can easily be expanded with content on the long run.

they should do a virus, or a nord lead, or another korg, or some yamaha...

Is this for fun or is a Collection 10 actually impending? when is Arturia likely to make one?

They are pretty much like a well synchronized clock at this point.

The oracle predicts:
- Pigments 4.5 free release
- Completely new synth plugin
- Collection 10

Then the new FX cycle begins.

Either sales were not as good as they hoped or they got sidelined by other projects. But I agree, all sorts of incredibly cool things could be done with Spark at this point.

They've done Piano V... they've done "Augmented" strings, and brass, if I'm not mistaken... maybe they'll make a more traditional strings/brass synth in the style of SWAM? I would be down to buy a Strings V or Brass V or Winds V (if it sounded good). Or maybe I'm just dreaming...

The abandonment of Spark is odd when you think about it.

This thread is largely a tale of more-of-the-same. Everyone will get excited about a new synth for 20 minutes, but we’re definitely at the law of diminishing returns there. The Augmented series is fine, but doesn’t inspire too much passion.

Rhythm is the wide open goal. I still think this is the biggest area of the entire marketplace that could use a brilliant new product. Not acoustic drums (we’re spoiled for excellent choice there), but I find everything out there for electronic / loops is wanting in some way. Spectrasonics have been way too slow to get their Stylus replacement to market. If Arturia stepped in with something totally new that had the best bits of XO, Battery, Stylus and had an inspiring pattern engine, that would be explosive and instantly make v10 a must-buy. Not that likely though I fear.

If the next version had an MKS-70/JX-8P and a Nord Lead, I would be all over it.
