Indeed, the Fury-800 currently only receives on MIDI channel 1; Note Offs work fine so I assume it is your MPE controller sending on other channels than 1, too. Anyway, will be fixed. 8)
That indeed is the principle behind MPE. I don‘t hold my breath, but do you think its difficult to implement a voice per channel mode? That would be close enough for me to MPE

Yes, love the concept. Forget everything you learned about sound design, just use your ears and very few controls...

Not sure if this has been tried or suggested for OSC before.

I have not installed this yet but it seems like it is very capable synth. And meanwhile we give Björn time to finish the new version of Fury-800.

One quick question:

Do you guys mostly use the built-in patches of a synth? Or do you create all new patches by yourself? Or maybe a bit of both? I'm asking because I'm trying my best to create cool new patches, but they never sound as good as the ones that are shipped with the VST :dog:

I think a lot - probably most of the participants in OSC - build patches from scratch. I know I always do.

I didn't have much programming experience when I entered my first OSC a couple of years ago. Until then, most of my synth programming had been limited to tweaking presets. And I felt much the same way you do now. But 20 challenges or so later, I'm a lot more confident in my programming abilities. So I'd say this challenge is a great method for developing your skills!

Definitely one of the main advantages of OSC is the ability to learn to understand different synthesizers and create your own sounds, and this is great! But at the beginning of the journey (and not only) pre-installed presets can help a lot, especially when there are really a lot of them and you can choose the right ones for your style and stay original) For example, in Surge, there seem to be about 1,500 presets from more than ten creators, and among them is constantly what I need, made better than I could do it! :hihi: I feel a slight twinge of conscience every time I borrow someone else's preset, but Hey, I think music is more important! :phones: :tu:

Pendulate seems to be a perfect candidate for a next OSC.

Its free (as in beer), it has a new approach to oscillators, it sounds good and different than the usual subtractive crowd...

Personally I make 100% of my patches from the init preset, that's part of the challenge for me. I even make all my patches from init for Waverazor! Which is probably the biggest personal accomplishment in OSC  (it took a lot of work to understand the singnal flow, even wiring up a filter is hard, and setting up the modulation to the front macro page - each preset is almost like creating a new synth).

Honestly after taking part for several months I found myself getting into the flow of making sounds and it's a lot faster for me now. It's the other aspects of making music that I find harder - composing/arranging/mixing/mastering etc.

I know that I most often appear here to say: "Wow, this is a great synth!", yes, but... this is a really great synth! :D It does sound and program a bit differently from most others, and it's very wild and very capable! The only regret is monophony, but this is only a springboard for jumping of creativity, in other respects it is pure power!
I even made a small sketch with four copies, no effects, just a light EQ in places...

P.S. By the way, what does WIP mean when someone sign their sketches like this :?:
P.P.S. Thanks for the explanation, z.prime! Well, if Pendulate is chosen as the next synth of the month, it will probably be an honest name)

+1 for Pendulate, that's a most cool freebie !
+1 for patch design from scratch. The only way for me. How else is one ever going to create one's own sound ?

OK y'all, What's October's synth? I'm ready to wiggle some air molecules.

Pendulate was chosen as the synthesizer of October! :hyper:

Hey, Wusik ZR is free now! If it turns out that this isn't a temporary price, it can become a good candidate! :tu:

But it has to be more stable first. It crashes on me (osx & Bitwig...)
