How about doing the first "Any Free Synth". I know there have been several "Any Synths" made that have included free and commercial synths but no one has been made yet that is only for free virtual synths.

This can be a good option for competitors to use exclusive synths for a single operating system, such as Deducktion which is only for Windows or those that are exclusively for Mac or Linux.

That is a most excellent idea. I wholeheartedly second that ! :tu:

Sounds like an OSC Surge 3.0...

Surge is definitely a very good option. But ... ...wait! ... aren't you part of the Surge team? Oh, bad boy. :uhuhuh: This is what they call subliminal advertising, right?

Tyrell N6 would be my choice, I think. Not as feature packed by a long way, but superb sound. %$#@!, it even does proper hard sync !

Is there any freeware polysynth that hasn’t been chosen so far?

Can you point me to a way to create a petition against this petition???
Its called challenge!
Once again I would rather vote for no other plugins at all - just the pure synth. That would help to get away from the too similar styles in the top area and give a better focus on composition. If a synth can't create the always same sounding kick, make a piece without!

I quoted from the OSC #141 thread, as this belongs here...

I was tempted to try the next OSC, but ... Monique is a straight up nope for me.

To each their own, but having installed it, even after figuring out how it all works, it has to be one of the least appealing softsynths I've ever encountered. Oh, and is mono to boot, lol.

Never mind though. Next time perhaps. And for now, major kudos to all that take part in this month's! I have respect for you, even before hearing your creations. :tu:

Vital is finally releasing on November 24th.
would it be too early to suggest it for the December OSC?
mostly here for the One Synth Challenge
you can hear some of my newest music at: https://wrenharmonic.bandcamp.com/ or https://www.youtube.com/@wrenharmonic

Post

Not sure I've got the time to vote for 150 tracks though.

Vital looks great +1 from me for December or, at least, "soon" :tu:

I'll attempt to join in if Vital is chosen
It's very tasty, I swear!

Vital looks great! However, I also like the idea of Any free synth OSC. Does this make sense for December? A busy month in anticipation of the holiday, and perhaps many will be easier and more pleasant to take your favorite free synth and just compose something according to your mood, without trying to beat others on the field of one synthesizer? And start the new year with learning a new instrument? What is your opinion, comrades?

Post

That makes perfect sense, comrade  Must say, Vital looks very promising, indeed. One can't but love audio-rate modulation, can one ?

Vital +1
