EDIT: They load and work perfectly in Fathom! Already using the Virus Tables.

Looking forward to that wagtunes. I would LOVE to see more sound designers contribute their "works of art" using Fathom. Fathoms workflow was absolutely brilliantly designed as what feels like the perfect "sound canvas" IMO. When the AVX processing is finally released, very soon, the sky's the limit!wagtunes wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 5:29 pm
Okay, well most of my libraries are at minimum 150 patches and some as many as 350 to 500. But I basically do patches that can actually be used in songs. They're going to appeal more to people who are writers and producers than people who are modular synthesist junkies. I just don't roll that way. So this library may or may not do well. Hard to say.
Of course I might decide to make a dedicated bank called "modular" that can show off the capabilities of the synth. It's not something I've ever done before (though not hard to do) but maybe I'll give it a shot. Of course if I end up splitting the library like that (part traditional, part non traditional) I might end up alienating everybody and then nobody gets it. That is a distinct possibility.
And of course I can always just do 2 different libraries, traditional and non traditional.
Eventually I'll figure it out.
For those still wondering about AVX compatibility, here are a few resources to check out:

That is a good question. The main source is from here:AmbieticA wrote: Sat Jun 29, 2019 4:09 amI just downloaded them all ...WOW THANK YOU for sharing this work!courtjestr wrote: Sat Jun 29, 2019 3:49 am For anyone who is interested, here is a link to a google drive folder containing about 1000 Fathom wavetables that I converted from Serum wavetables.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ez74R ... Ud2yJsNy03Question: Are these wave-tables free from copyright issues? I mean, If I used a select few for a public release, is that ok? Or personal use only?

The Adventure Kid ones are free to use for sure.
Other sources:

https://www.audiobombs.com/items/807/ve ... wavetables
I just search for free Serum Wavetables and downloaded a bunch.
I was unsure of copyright restrictions which is why I didn't create a Google searchable public link, though I guess if the link is in this forum, it is still searchable.
Glad you are finding them useful.AmbieticA wrote: Sat Jun 29, 2019 4:09 am EDIT: They load and work perfectly in Fathom! Already using the Virus Tables.![]()

Am busy with a new patch, but I can't copy the sequencer modulator because it's not listed.
edit: after re-starting my DAW (renoise) a second time and loading Fathom with the patch, I now can see the edited modulator under modulators on the left side. That wasn't the case earlier.
edit2: And now it's gone again, after switching back to Renoise from the browser. Looks like a bug with the GUI?
To add to this, yesterday the spectrum analyser got stuck.. couldn't get it to work again. Had to re-load the synth and patch.

Hello, everyone. I'm new here (just bought the synth yesterday) and having trouble understanding updates policy. So, I have to email author for a password. Does this mean I'll have to do that for every single released update? Do I have to pay $5 for every single update? Didn't find any info on their website.
P.S. This synth is just WOW. Mad respect for the developers!

You should have had an e-mail after the purchase containing the password, if not mail Everett about it indeed.
Updates: https://www.fathomsynth.com/updates (botton page, mediafire and google link)
The updates are free when you buy Fathom, the 5 dollars are optional ... to support development of this excellent synth.

Found a very odd bug. Assign mod wheel to oscillator volume. Play keyboard and slowly move mod wheel up and you'll hear volume slowly increasing. Now, move mod wheel back down to bottom position. Play some notes so that you can hear volume has returned back to normal. Take hands off keyboard. Stop playing. Move mod wheel all the way to top. Start playing after move is completed. There is no volume change. The mod wheel modulation on the volume only works if you are playing the keys BEFORE you start moving the mod wheel. If you start playing AFTER you move the mod wheel, there is no effect. This also happens in reverse as well. If the mod wheel is all the way up and you bring it down WITHOUT playing, the volume decrease will not happen. You will still hear the max volume even though mod wheel is all the way down.
This might be one of the strangest bugs I've ever seen.

Wagtunes, that is definitely a bug, I’ll make sure it is fixed in the next release.
Electricdrop, Thanks!
RPH, Yes, that also sounds like a bug, likewise I’ll make sure that is fixed in 2.32. I’ve never seen the modulators disappear from the list before, which list are you talking about, the one on the left? What were you doing when it disappeared?

Hi Everett,
Yes, the list on the left. The only thing I did was switch window to my browser and back to my DAW Renoise.
In Reaper this can be reproduced as well, close the window with Fathom and re-open it to notice the edited modulator list seems empty.
Reloading the synth shows the edited modulator again.
Hope this plays:

Fathom will Import Serum Wave Tables
I've been looking into the Serum wave tables today and reading them is going to be close to trivial, so the Fathom Intel AVX release will also include being able to read any Serum Wave Table into Fathom.
Reading the tables is trivial because Fathom already has a WAV reader so the Serum data just needs to be parsed from one WAV buffer and each wave pulled out assuming they are 2048 samples in length. This will also be a setting so any WAV file can be imported with N samples per wave, where N can be set by the user.
I may even be able to make the number of waves per table variable, though I'm not sure about that.
Writing Fathom's wave tables to Serum format mechanically is also trivial in terms of the actual wave data. However writing the correct information into the WAV RIFF chunks so Serum will load it is tricky.
I checked out the thread
viewtopic.php?t=517146
However, what Steve is saying does not make any sense to me. I can not find any description of a CLM RIFF chunk anywhere online, so it looks like it might be Serum's own made up chunk. There is also a mysterious JUNK chunk. So anyway I will try to figure this out, but at the very least Fathom will be able to import Serum wave tables.
RPH, I just realized Fathom as a weird thing where it will not save an existing modulator unless it has been touched. If it has not been touched and no modulation uses it, then it assumes you don't want to keep it. Can you try a test and try adding a new Sequencer Modulator, and then change the number of segments and the height of some of the segments, and then do the same thing you did before and see then if the Sequencer is included in the list. Let me know what happens.
