B*llshit little boy.

Your opinion of what "good" tone is shared by a VERY small minority of KVR members as this thread that you've pissed all over proves conclusively. You have a right to your one dimensional opinion of what good guitar tone is but if you think you'll find much support for that opinion here you're sadly mistaken. Obviously you need to save your pennies and buy a triple recto...you'll never be happy with any ampsim hard or soft so why continue to torment yourself (or us for that matter!! ), any longer. :D

Cheers......CL
funny, i am happy with podxt, and guitar rig 2. Its all i use actually. I was simply looking to add another tool to my arsenal... and something to suggest for others to use that dont have the cash to buy anything else. Your berating of me and extreme comments only prove yours is an emotional and illogical argument, and seriously not worth the webspace and bandwidth it is using.

just check the other thread --- no one so far can get the open, tight sound i am talking about. And totc admits he can hear what im hearing in the sound.

so perhaps you should just let go, my friend. Im not into senseless arguments.

BTW. That little jam was based on a Bob Wills tune called Twin Guitar boogie. It's not what I play all the time, but I'm a fan of that old sound and have all the respect in the world for those old swing players.

I used a Gibson 135 hollow body into a $120 dollar tapco 6306 (the choice of champions) into Reaper. No eq or compression or anything else outside of freeamp 2. I normally record with a fender vibrolux the old fashioned way, but with a 2 year old in the house, I'm doing most everything with headphones. Shhhhhh.

Thanks,

Garywayne

thanx Gary!

My apologies, I stand corrected. It was late, I had a god awful
day and I did'nt properly read all your comments. I should'nt
have assumed you were another one of these guys:
Software has NEVER ACHIEVED Decent Guitar Distortion. Nope.
Once again....I'm very sorry :(

I'm gonna make a point of avoiding all FX pedals for a day or two and report back if that narrows it down. If FrettedSynth wants to investigate, least I can do get scientific about it.
not really strange, no, as i've heard lots of people having better luck in the recent sonars with the ASIO driver. tbh i think there is something goofy with my card, but also to be fair NOW i do have more than the normal services going and run a server simultaneous, but back then when i was using it, it was just systray and explorer as advised ;)

yes please see if you can figure this out. does it only happen with certain effects on? have you a preset that you can share where this happens consistently and we could load and test it for ourselves? power in numbers..

indeed, my favorite effects are bitcrushers. ephonic lo-fi is the best, and tls sample reducer is good too. but i'm just poking fun now :)

Another detail:
I have noticed that CPU meter software (including the "Task Manager") can actually cause ASIO Audio Stuttering on some machines ... :?

yep, i confirm that. with tracktion2 if i have taskmanager open and minimized (and i minimize to try to show the meter there) it definitely stutters to the exact time i set for "update speed" ... same is true with process explorer by sysinternals.
