uh oh-- the ol few postings is "suspect" argument,

I don't work for another developer, I am just expressing my opinion.

I've been posting for YEARS!

We still do that here don't we or is this FOX NEWS KVRAUDIO now?

Look up **jimvictor** Does that meet your qualifications?

I had issues with the account name recently and had to create another one

Well,
Aether sounds good but it is a little over the top to suggest that it's worth is in the $1250 - $1750 range, IMHO
Andrew didn't say that its worth is in the $1250-1750 range - he said that it "...competes directly with...things that cost 5-7 times as much...". In other words, they feel that their product can compete with more expensive reverbs, such as Lexicons, et al., but at a fraction of the price.

Also note that jazzimprov has a single post, which seems a bit suspect for a first posting on KVR.
That does not make him suspicious. Don't push this "earn character" please. We are not World Of Warcraft kids. And his opinion is quite lucid for newcomer. There is nothing wrong with that.

Hi jazzimprov!!! :hihi:
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Thanks, although I'm not a newcomer.

I'll post under JimVictor for those suspecting souls!

remember, I not questioning the quality of Aether, I may disagree with the way it is presented, but that is all.

I look forward to the DEMO.

It was worth questioning.

People often have existing accounts and post using phony accounts in effort to troll conversations without "harming" their good name and sometimes it exactly as jimvictor mentioned and that they had problems logging into their account... I was simply looking for transparency .

Anyway, my suspicions were correct that he had existing account, so don't confuse this with a "earn character" witch hunt... that's not the case.

If it's of any conciliation, I like jazzimprov better. :hihi:

Anyway, I disagree about the so-called hype presentation that you were referring to, because, 1, it's a commercial product that is supposed to promoted and 2, there are legitimate reasons why this does compete with the Lexicon plugin models.

As for the hype, I don't believe that's coming form the developers, although I'm sure they're quite proud of their product. It just so happens that a lot of people genuinely love this product which is certainly no different than other product... just check all the "what's the best" threads to see what I mean.

Agreed on all points. As far as the Aether vs. $1250+ reverbs go, I agree with both the developers and the many Aether users here. I've always wanted a nice Lexicon or Eventide, but I can't justify spending that much on a reverb, even if it is hardware. And, admittedly, the $250 price tag for Aether seemed pretty extravagant to me, considering that it is just software...until I spent an evening with the demo.

This thread has become quite funny Friday-night-reading for me so... I'm not only loving Aether, now I love you all guys/gals. Ha ha. :)

Well it's sort of irrelevant since it still only costs what it costs.

Anyways,

The topic is Aether 1.5 release! not names and other unrelated items.....

...we digress....

So, back to the topic at hand!

btw I like jazzimprov better also, but I guess I better stick with the less suspicious JimVictor!

No it wasn't, it was entirely irrelevant to the point. Which I agree with to an extent, BTW, I think the hype is getting slightly inflated...

It was relevant to me and I was correct in my assumption, but since you find it irrelevant, and there's already several posts before yours that seem to resolve this issue, why do you find it relevant to bring it up now? :?

By the way... please explain what you see as hype. I don't see it.

I don't see the hype either. Maybe a long-winded and often slightly derailed discussion, but keep in mind the premise and title of the thread and the OP's original questions:
ariston wrote:Title says it all. More specifically: is it worth 250$? Has it replaced all your other reverb plugs? Has it become your go-to reverb, or does it gather dust in your plugin folder?

...inquiring minds want to know. :)

Subject changed on January 12th: question answered, and this topic has moved on to greener pastures and milder climes. 8)
The timely 1.5 update has led to much excitement and prolonged the discussion, but I don't see the harm in that, particularly since it is relevant to the thread topic.
