ok. Hard to see in Kontakt with all those layers.

nope. Just a quality control issue.
zircon wrote:Still, if you feel like you could do a better job testing samples, let me know - we're always looking for good testers :D
After being put through the wringer (repeatedly.. as a VIP tester) at Propellerhead.. I think I'm done with that sorta thing. ;)

If I were using it more, I would.. though, currently it's just not getting much use. I was hoping to back up the Electri6ity guitars with it, but honestly the difference between the two are just too great. Between pre-pick noise latency and basic articulation matching.. I couldn't get them to match up where I needed. And the quality difference is very apparent, regardless of the very similar Guitar Rig patch designs I worked up.
zircon wrote:There's nothing stopping you from inputting vibrato via pitch wheel.
I was referring to the pinch squeal samples in-particular. Wished those had no vibrato pre-performed on them.
zircon wrote:I'm glad that you don't feel like your money was wasted...
nope. I knew what I was getting myself into. I was just really spoiled with what Electri6ity offered in comparison.. which I know really isn't fair, considering the price difference and overall content.

zircon wrote:In fact if Ben asked, we would be happy to collaborate on an "Extreme Metal" type expansion for Electri6ity and share some of our sampling/editing techniques which, as I believe demos show, are top-notch for rhythms. ;)
As a very happy customer of both you and OrangeTree i have to ask:

What if Greg asked?
What if you asked him?
I wonder what that could lead to, even beyond something Extreme Metal.

To get back on topic, does anyone of the Electri6ity owners know how to disable the articulation morphing?
When i played it the last time, i very much disliked the sound i got with different velocities.

I think we'd be up for that. I'm always interested in collaboration :-)

Why are there no palm mutes in Electri6ity???

I love my EEG Strawberry, but there just aren't enough round robin samples for a lot of what I want to do and I like some tone variations. That's where Elecrti6ity comes in, but I do like a good palm mute from time to time. (Think Skullcrusher by Overkill)

My favorite threat is back!
Hit CO lightly, for the muted to half muted articulation.
Electri6ity is awesome for repeated notes.Even fast repeated un- muted
notes and chords sound good.Benjamin has a great metal tutorial earlier in this thread.Progtronic has great example files too.

I guess they just don't sound as good as the EEG Strawberry palm mutes.

Everything else seems to be great, though!

A little confusing, but that'll work itself out in time. :)

Yeah, keeping the thread alive :)

Ok, first of all: Electri6ity has palm muted notes.
Buuuuut: essential for a good rhythm sound is a good amp sound!
This is really important and is also true for "real" guitars!

I can recommend http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/webs ... tware.html (TSE X30, which simulates an Engl 530 preamp and is freeware) in combination with the TSE 808 tube screamer (can also be found on that website) using the Cabinet simulation from http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/ with different cabinet impulses (cabinets have a big impact on the sound!)
The good thing is that all those amps are freeware and beat most commerical plugins, especially in terms of realism. Those amps are definitely worth trying out! No matter if you'll end up using Electri6ity or any other guitar library.

You can see what those amps can do by listening to the Electri6ity demos done by Javi Perera (who uses mostly freeware amps e.g. LeCTO which can be found here: http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/2011/02/lecto-au.html):

Yeah, I was reading the articulations list, and not the descriptions, but I finally saw that Half-Mutes were palm mutes.

Even so, EEG Strawberry palm mutes sound better, in my opinion, than Electri6ity.

No doubt Electri6ity can sound excellent (it will take me a while to get there!).

I'm pretty happy with my amp sim (AT Metal and AT3 Free), but I'm always looking at other sims. I'll check those out!

Thanks! :)

Btw. don't automatically use the Les Paul for metal stuff. The Strat and the Tele with raised output and tuned down often sounds better! All examples from Javi Perera above either use the Strat or the Tele!

Thanks!

I hate Les Pauls anyway.

I would also try different velocities. In amt mode velocity changes will give
you different types of mutes.also try the GO articulations.

I use a total of four rhythm guitars for my metal tunes. Two Telecasters(one hard left/one hard right) and two Les Paul P90s (one hard left/one hard right). All four guitars have different effects applied through Guitar Rig 4. I think the P90's sound fine for metal.

Here's an example of this configuration.

Good stuff!

I'm liking prog rock more and more lately.

In the playing menu, there is a muted tightness perameter.

nice tune Dreambliss!
Anyone know how to get rid of some of the bell like overtones, on some
of the sustained notes, on the various guitars.Using lower velocities with the
b-1 key helps.This is not a show stopper.The biggest problems areF1-G#1.
