Oh yeah, I get the crash in Logic as well on adjusting the envelope and closing the gui. That one is pretty bad. And I have come across it where I've turned off layers but they've kept making sound although the button is off. I don't know how to reproduce it though.sopor79 wrote:I really like the tone2 products...that is not the point. But the bugs I mean are really bad: massive cubase crash if you only change "filter-decay" and close gui- reopen-crash! next thing: load a patch...do some adjustments..close gui..reopen gui...the sound of the patch is still the same but the browser shows another patchname...and if you choose the patch you' ve loaded before close the gui..you see that all adjustments are gone...next: you can't do any changes on a synth (layer), which is "off" without its switch automaticly to "on"...and all these in the full-version! .....but don't get me wrong- the synth is great! I hope they fix it soon
Tone2 ElectraX is available!

Now i hope you can understand why i'm a bit disappointed because i found this bugs on the first day... but if you look at page 25- markus wrote that they will work on it...
btw: kvr forum seems to be good for promote and sell products but not good enough to answer questions of interested users/customers/buyers (only till page 25)...and if only 1 out of 10 would buy it...i think it would be worth it (i hope you understand what i mean...its only my opinion!)

What I don't get about the demo version is:
Resynth function is disabled
Loading my own samples is disabled
If I want to check how the resynth algorithms sound and if they come close to the quality Alchemy provides I should be able to test this before buying it.
Checking what I can do with my own samples within Electra would be also vitally important.
How on earth is a 10 minute time out period going to enable me to program something from scratch?
90% of the presets that come with this Plug sound absolutely terrible to my ears and who needs a male/female voice saying 1-2-3-4, a cheezy panflute, tons of anachronistic video game sounds and all those harsh sounding vocal pads?
I had thought of doing a sound bank for this but I won't, everything about this Plug puts me off somehow, bye ElectraX, you have been deinstalled already.

Totally agree with you, sadly. The synth VSTi market being as saturated as it is, you'd think a developer would take pains to make his product accessible and inviting. Almost everything about it puts me off, as well.Sampleconstruct wrote: 90% of the presets that come with this Plug sound absolutely terrible to my ears and who needs a male/female voice saying 1-2-3-4, a cheezy panflute, tons of anachronistic video game sounds and all those harsh sounding vocal pads?

There's probably a great deal of potential (well-)hidden in ElectraX, but it's not worth the hassle to me. Like having to woo a woman for three years before she'll deign to give you the time of day.

For people looking for answers or wanting to add feature suggestions, it looks like the tone2 forum is the place to do it. I check there pretty often to see what's going on. I've been a bit puzzled trying to find the random function from the manual and I've heard some others looking for it too. This was just cleared up here: http://www.tone2.org/forum/index.php?topic=503.0
"The random patch function was reserved as a place holder during the non-public alpha. Our handbook writer was not aware of this and simply forgot to remove this in the handbook.
There is no need to create a rant on a 'missing feature' because 'create random patch' was never annouced to be a part of the software.
However this additional feature might be added in a free future update.
Best Regards,
Markus"

Here's a selection of my presets from the default library. No panflutes.
Some of these sounds are inspired by old school electronic music circa 1970s.
Single presets only with no external processing or effects.

These are the presets you hear in the demo:
Cassiopeia Sweeps
Quickening Star
Dream Maker
Cathedral Hush
Dream of Icarus
SideChain SoftHeaven

We are currently looking for someone to translate our web text (http://www.tone2.com) from English to German, so if you're fluent in German & English this may be a good opportunity to earn yourself an ElectraX license
For those interested you'll find more information here: http://www.tone2.org/forum/index.php?to ... 00#msg1900

Just ordered it but it seems I have to wait 12 to 24 hours to get it !! Is this normal ? Yes my bank account has the money for it. Not customer friendly. I have sent the question to Tone2. I thought a download link was immediately sent like for any other softsynth company for which I bought a synth.

Ease up a little. If you take the time to read through this thread you'll find that Marcus have offically apologised for this - I think it has to do with some fckup with Shareit, but I'm not sure. I know how it feels with waiting for a new gadget, but honestly nobody will perish if you have to wait one day for your key.aymericf wrote:Just ordered it but it seems I have to wait 12 to 24 hours to get it !! What about that wavetable creations in ElectraX? For me simple resynthesis of a sample is far from having complex and/or carefully designed wavetables like in e.g. PPG Wave 3.V (with up to 128 waveforms in the "dual wavetables"). For me doing custom wavetables is much more complex and needs a sophisticated editor. The lack of such an editor in PPG Wave 3.V (while already containing around 140 wavetables from Wolfgang Palm and the sample import) made some people say they'll get ElectraX instead which is obviously a strange decision since it for sure doesn't contain an editor like they expected.cyphersuit wrote:ElectraX Tips: Importing Sample Data, Creating Vocoder Patches, Creating Your Own Wavetables, and Saving Patches with Sample Data http://www.modulatethis.com/2010/12/ele ... coder.html
Not being able to test that Resynthesis feature and/or sample import was one of the reasons why i already deinstalled the demo and will move on with my other synths.
It's also strange that the "real" wavetables ("a la PPG") are inside the VA oscillator model. A bit confusing for me.
I am currently using the resynthesis features of Alchemy and the Additive or Spectral import allows real "sculpting" of the sounds instead of just some kind of automatic import and looping. The Granular import of Absynth 5 is quite nice too for this.

No problem ! But tone2 should update their Ordering help page which quote:DrGonzo wrote:Ease up a little. I just bought this...
The wonderful thing about having a variety of plug-ins is that if a feature (or 2) is missing from an individual plug-in, there's a good chance that another in my oversized collection will do the trick...
This may sound crazy, but I actually like plug-ins that try not to be 'all things to all people'...a plug-in that has 'focus' (that does a few things very well) is more useful to me than a plug that has, say: 65 different filter types, but none of the filter types is truly praise-worthy.
This is an absolutely BRILLIANT plug-in! It costs a little more then most, but what it can do sonic-wise is varied, and can sound quite distinctive in character!
Is it the end-all of the plug-in world, the destroyer of Omnisphere? Massive? Prophet-V? ACE?! Ha, ha,
H#LL, NO!!, but I'm going to use Electrax a lot!
Beautiful work, Markus and Co!
