It would be a match made in...
Well lets not get into that.
Why does anyone use Rebecca Black as a muse? I feel sorry for the girl.

Too late AM Gold, et al
While you clowns were wasting your time posting, I wrote, recorded, mixed and fed-ex'd my new song to Rebecca's people. It will be such a departure that it will ROCK the pop landscape as we know it.
last week was a full moon, this week is a first quarter and a new moon comes afterwaaaards!

The last post was debra1rlo's, and A.M. Gold's post comes afterwards.

Meh...
"It's fish-heads fish-heads......rolly polly fish-heads"
And we hired Kanye West to do the completely pre-meditated rap "breakdown"

Can't reveal that part of the lyrics as it requires parental warning.

The problem I see with writing a new song for Rebecca is just simply conceiving of her actually doing any kind of good song. The groundwork has been laid for her as being (or at least seeming like) basically the world's worst singer, so it's hard to picture her doing a song with any real merit (in the pop music sense).

That's actually even harsh for meA.M. Gold wrote:The problem I see with writing a new song for Rebecca is just simply conceiving of her actually doing any kind of good song. I seriously doubt that her at 13 is any worse than the completely placid likes of the very successful avril latrine or brutney spores.
A little makup, a sexy dress, some lyrics about how normal sexy sex is and all the autotune tpain can muster will have her ship-shape in no time.

She is really sort of an anti-pop singer, in the sense of being popular due to most people disliking her.trimph1 wrote:But with all the publicity she is now a pop singer....![]()
This brings up and interesting issue, though, which I think is reflected in the fact that Simon Cowell, who is notorious for verbally disemboweling talentless singers, has actually openly praised Rebecca, saying it's admirable that she produced something that captured so much attention so quickly. I think the between-the-lines reading of that is that Cowell sees potential dollar signs, even in a very well known anti-hero.

Well, that's why I added "seems like". As I mentioned earlier, her national anthem wasn't all that bad. The vocal potential is there, but her voice (to my ears) is a bit too nasally to really enjoy very much.hibidy wrote: That's actually even harsh for me![]()

What I was trying to say before, though, is that the first video, which is now burned into our neurons, is so bad, that a songwriter has to go through some kind of mental reconditioning process to essentially conceive of a totally new Rebecca Black (i.e. one that could really pull off presenting a good pop song).
I'm not saying she can't do it, I'm just saying one has to make a mental leap to get into the state of mind to write a good song to suit her.

I actually think the harder act to follow would be producing something that people would dislike equally much...
I mean, it's not everyday (no pun intended) that a band comes with a song mostly about days of the week-
oh, wait.

so? Over the years just such an image has worked in many types of entertainment. We're talking about a very superficial industry 'pop music', pop music, often driven by flash fads. Thanx to youtube, facebook, twitter and such, flash fads are even more prevalent. If you're the kind of artist that values your art more than money and fame you likely wont accept such a tactic because you want to be recognized for your passion and dedication and not recognized for anything as long as it's recognition.A.M. Funny thing is people remember the best and the worst, eventually the two get blurred. She's been very successful at getting attention...she's done it better than anyone else here.
However, many of us here may not be as interested in attention and have been equally successful at obtaining our goals and are proud of how we have grown...but as attention isn't one of those things we might be the only ones who know it, who care about and who it really matters to anyhow.
Love/hate...good/bad...for polar opposites there really is just a fine line between one and another. Like it or not you're part of her public and I'm sure she doesn't care if you like her not, she'll probably start making money and that money will be just as green as the cash you work for.
My daughter has a bunch of songs written, she finally is at a point where we might be able to start putting music to them...it's going to be pop and I'll produce it. I'm not pop (well I'm her pop), I'll have some adjusting and learning to do...guess what? I'm going to post it, she's going to put it on youtube and by most standards some (maybe most) songs will likely suck...are you going to make fun of me and my daughter? Are you going to tell us we're hated? Dont worry, I'll laugh in your face...but the point is that is how she's going to learn, that's how I'm going to learn.
How has all those who hate RB grown as a result of hating her? You know what though? They're are probably more liked for having jumped on the bandwagon, which is to say the least...very superficial

I take you point, but there may be a line where it's more anti than hero. In other words, an actual music career can't exist if no one is willing to pay anything, and I'm not sure the haters will pay anything simply to continuously hate on Rebecca Black. Plus, think of the concerts if 80% of the paying audience were booing her throughout the show.

Yea, and that's part of what I was getting at in calling her an anti-hero.metamorphosis wrote:I actually think the harder act to follow would be producing something that people would dislike equally much...
Is she now going to deliberately put out a string of horrible songs, just to match the nature of her "fame" thus far? That would be a bizarre career, and I'm not sure where it would lead. Would people buy an album of all horrible Rebecca Black songs simply because they hated the songs so much?
