it's probably just a coincidence that the two biggest apologists and promoters of this instrument/company within the forum, stand to benefit commercially by the existence of another platform to sell their wares.
impartiality... i think not.
Still waiting on UVI to confirm or disconfirm crossgrading. the right, and ethical thing to do.

I don't have any MF3/Falcon related wares. I'm just a user and beta tester.Daags wrote:it's probably just a coincidence that the two biggest apologists and promoters of this instrument/company within the forum, stand to benefit commercially by the existence of another platform to sell their wares.
Kontakt is my wares.

Christ. Is it a state secret or something? EvilDragon answered "Lots", and now we have this 'answer'.manandmusic wrote:If you are a preset hunter (like me), take Wusik V8. Does anybody know how many presets it has? Even a ballpark figure? Like 500, 1,000, 2,000, etc?

To be fair, you seem to miss a couple of points:Daags wrote:it's probably just a coincidence that the two biggest apologists and promoters of this instrument/company within the forum, stand to benefit commercially by the existence of another platform to sell their wares.

1. Mach Five 3 already allowed wares, being them both scriptable instruments or just sample packages. So, this new version only brings more diversity and quality, but is not exactly "another platform".
2. At least Simon already released wares for Mach Five 3 (don't know if Mario did). So, again, the already existing version wasn't preventing either of them of of benefiting commecially.
That said, I stand by you in what concerns an upgrade price for Mach Five users, but I decided to go for it already, taking advantage of the special offer of Best Service, since I think UVI is a good company, and the instrument deserved, for what I already read and listened.

WOW what a nasty thing to say, Simon and EvilDragon have been overly generous with their time because they were beta testers FFS. I may or may not buy Simons libs because I actually like what he does, not because of his presence here on a different issue. You actually insult the intelligence of everyone here by your comments.Daags wrote:it's probably just a coincidence that the two biggest apologists and promoters of this instrument/company within the forum, stand to benefit commercially by the existence of another platform to sell their wares.

Both of them have far more under the hood experience then I ever will, if you have personal vendetta against someone take it out of here.

If you compare it to omni 2 it's a pretty sweet deal... It does way more. Plus the $100 voucher on top.DJ Warmonger wrote:229 USD for a synth is way too much compared to other products out there. Still it looks and sounds promising.

Aah. I see. It only has 450 presets, and you think that's bad, so didn't want to say it. The number of presets matters a lot to me, as I only use presets, and when buying a synth, the number that it comes with (and obviously their quality) has a lot to do with my decision making process. Why wouldn't it?EvilDragon wrote:Does it really matter? It has lots. What difference does it make if it's 1000 or 2000? More to wade through, woohoo.basslinemaster wrote:Does anybody know how many presets it has? I can't find the answer on the UVI website.
450 presets is pretty low for a synth like this, when you consider Omnisphere 2 has 8,000 (is that correct, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Yes I agree. I guess that's why they don't advertise the numberbasslinemaster wrote:450 presets is pretty low for a synth like this
There's a good wide range of presets, but I do feel they could have done much better and doubled up with more bread and butter presets (which would make ideal starting points for layers). I expect expansion packs are on the horizon.

Why are you putting words in my mouth? I don't think that's bad. I just didn't want to count them all as they're all in subfolders and there's no easy way of counting. I have better things to do than count presets for someone.basslinemaster wrote:Aah. I see. It only has 450 presets, and you think that's bad, so didn't want to say it.
If you use only presets, you're missing out on a lot of fun... but then again looks like Falcon won't be for you because of "not enough presets". LOL.

My gut tells me that they are targeting this synth towards people who create their own sounds and thus the low number of presets. Either that or they intend to make more money off of expansion packs like Synthmaster does. Or could be a combination of both.

450 is plenty to get anyone going. Plus, I'm sure there will be plenty more presets released.db3 wrote:Yes I agree. I guess that's why they don't advertise the numberbasslinemaster wrote:450 presets is pretty low for a synth like this![]()
