Can someone tell me if this plugin uses the soft iLok protection?
I'm referring to the protection scheme where you can register it to your hardware/computer in addition (or instead of) to a physical iLok

Physical iLok is not required. You can see the complete System Requirements at the bottom of our Softube Modular listing:

so now we know the pricing, whats peoples opinion?
your going to be up to $250 (inc discounts) for all modules.
the basic package + heartbeat looks pretty reasonable.... the intellijel modules, averaging $30/module (at intro pricing) - looks like it could get expensive, e.g. imagine 10 modules a year, thats $300.
I guess, if you consider each modules like a 'small' plugin, its not too bad...
e.g. valhalla reverb $50, vs intellijel rubicon $39 , seems hard to imagine its as much dev effort for rubicon, as the valhalla plugin ... and the rubicon is then only useable within modular - but I guess its in similar ballpark?
for me, the one thing, is it seems like a investment into softube modular, and as more modules are released, you are increasingly 'locked' into it - I don't see an issue, if they continue to release lots of good quality modules, with a wide range of choice to pick and choose from, but once the initial excitement dies down, how do we know there will be more manufactures/modules released regularly?
I guess my premise above, is the attraction of a modular environment, is adding additional modules, exponentially increases possibilities, due to combinational opportunities. (assuming CPU can keep up
)
Im looking forward to hearing more now its released, for $250 it looks like a pretty powerful synth, even if thats the only modules every released - it wont be as flexible as Reaktor Blocks, but Im hoping its perhaps a bit quicker/comfortable/fun to patch.
thoughts?

I have reaktor 6 and honestly it is not fun to build a patch/synth during a session.I think this is the point where Softube will make the difference.quicker/comfortable/fun to patch

+1 i have reaktor 6. It's ok to build your synth there if you are used to Reaktor. Some people say that Softube Modular (judging by youtube video) isn't sounding better then Reaktor 6 but i disagree. I hear some sort of quality in Softube Modular which is missing in Reaktor. It is same kind of quality i hear in U-he Bazille which is great. Just my opinion.hivkorn wrote:I have reaktor 6 and honestly it is not fun to build a patch/synth during a session.I think this is the point where Softube will make the difference.quicker/comfortable/fun to patch
Can't wait to demo but when i try it i will know for sure how good it is.

Main issue for me with Reaktor blocks is polyphony, you have to create each voice manually.

Man, I hope this happens soon...
I've recently developed a serious addiction to my modular hardware setup. I'm very curious to see if total recall can compete with hand-on patching - and vice versa.
Question: Are Intellijel modules limited to Corgasmatron, Rubycon and uFold? Will Metropolis be availble as well?
Also, is there any info as to connectivity with trigger/gate/CV signals through audio inputs?
Are there any lowpass gates just yet?

I think it would be wise to at least consider the bundle as it is now on it's own merits for the price offered.thetechnobear wrote:for me, the one thing, is it seems like a investment into softube modular, and as more modules are released, you are increasingly 'locked' into it - I don't see an issue, if they continue to release lots of good quality modules, with a wide range of choice to pick and choose from, but once the initial excitement dies down, how do we know there will be more manufactures/modules released regularly?
Is it worth the dollars to you even if it wasn't developed any/much further?
