Endless possibilities but for me, a chore to program... and an overall tone that doesn't inspire me.
It's very digital sounding, which is great for certain things and not so great for other things. As with any synth, use it to its strengths.
Depends how you program it really.

To a degree, yeah. But the sound engine is the sound engine. There is no changing that. And, to my ears, the sound engine is very digital and cold, which is great for lots of stuff. I mean I'm certainly not going to get this to sound like a Solina.

+1. My family doesn't really see why I keep trying to nab synths on sale, since I already have "plenty." :hihi:

I wonder if anyone ever said that about a Minimoog, back in the days.
Back in the day, synths could only do so much. And even though I grew up during the era, I don't look at those days through rose colored glasses. I'll leave it at that because if I say anything else it's only going to start a fight that I honestly want no part of.
After almost 50 years the Minimoog is still very popular (maybe more popular than ever), not because it is a "feature monster" but because people love it as it is. A Minimoog Model D is not just another synth but a true instrument with lots of character and besides that it is a true synth legend. None of the multi purpose synths we have today really sounds like it.
With The Legend we finally seem to have the ultimate emulation that has some additional features which make sense IMO.

Besides many of those who claim that a Minimoog is too limited do not really have a clue how to program it properly. Of course there is a lot of stuff it is not able to do but you could get a huge amount of different tones from it if you program it properly. This is even moe true wit hteh advanced features in The Legend (including the polyphony and Bandpass filter). Of course this would also not be my choice if i want a single synth for everything but for what it could do it is just awesome.

Besides all that some people just do not want to accept that certain synths have a limited feature set. Not every synth has to be capable of doing everything.

Here is a more unusal Minimoog track by Mr. Firechild:
It's more like a piece of furniture, with its massive wooden cabinet :hihi:
And those giant controls...
I also think that simplicity is attractive, when there are zillions of controls and options, one always has the feeling that one's patch is not good enough, so one wastes a lot of time on improvement, trying every control, but at the end of the day the patch was often better before the improvement :hihi:

I've been resisting demoing Avenger all this time lest I get too attached, but now I have to try it. Maybe eventually I'll be able to pick up a used license. :hihi:

I have never had any problem with NI Massive! Not in any DAW I tried (includes Reaper and Cubase). It also doesn't use that much CPU. It was rare that it reaches 20% with my previous i5 CPU. What kind of CPU do you have and what ASIO driver you are using?

Anyway, I sold it recently! Not because I regretted buying it, but because I want to use my blofeld synth instead! Every time I wanted to use blofeld (or Largo) I ended loading Massive. If I decide to sell blofeld, sure I would buy Massive again 8)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Regret more that there are plugins and sample sets I can't sell or give away.

i use my laptop(quad core @ 3.1GHz +my slave for running mturboreverb (udoo x86 ultra quadcore @2.5Ghz)) and 20%(for me it was around 14-16% at normal patches and 19% at complex ) for a single instance it is a no-no for me (i know i could freeze my track but i dont like that workflow) my mpowersynth eats around 1 to 5 % for some complex patches and 15 % at extreme with all 8 modulators at work and + i use nearly 30 instances of any synth and kinda hate to freeze it

and i am using my behringer UMC ASIO audio driver @48Khz with 800 samples buffer

and nope no regret for selling ni Massive for mpowersynth....you may hate it but i love it

Every time I see a thread like this, the first regretted synth that comes to mind is Seer Systems Reality:

21 years, and it still ticks me off.

No doubt it's been mentioned already but I'd say TheMangle. Bought in good faith during its beta-phase only for it to become abandonware and the dev to go AWOL. I've never actually used it beyond tinkering around for the odd 10 minutes.
