Just noticed this... drop a chord generator down and alt-right click it.. you get a menu.. so, I hope that is considered with the new split..

Also, I have a couple days before the proverbial crap hits the fan, so, if at all possible, get an update out so I will have something to tinker with. hehe

RapidComposer v3.9b30 is available!

Improvements:

Alt-click to split/join phrases (does not work with audio at the moment)
"Apply To Selection" is available on the Rhythm tab
Diatonic and chromatic mediant chords are in the Chords Suggestions
Fixed: composition with long audio track could not be loaded
Fixed: several types of phrase generators crashed for a right-click
Fixed: loop button stopped working
Fixed when Melody Generator were dropped to phrases (Apply Melody, Apply Shape): phrases kept changing
Fixed 'recent compositions' disappearing from list
Possibly Fixed(?): phrases disappearing after dropping them on the workspace

Beginning work with b30 now. Thanks for the new release!

Q: I'm noticing that the Accompaniment Phrase Bass_Fifths07 plays a B note in the bass even when the chord is set to E7/Bb. Is this supposed to happen? Is there something I need to change to get slashed bass notes to properly sound?

FWIW, I'm also noticing that some phrases which split fine via Alt-Click do not split via the operation in the Phrase dialog (just as before).

And with me it split the phrase with ALT, but does not glue (

Thanks for the update

RC is not crashing now when selecting a phrase and generator.

However, the Inspector window is very small and resizes to the smallest size everytime a different tab is selected which is rather annoying

With the Audio track in RC and some more editing functions added, as mentioned before down the track you could integrate melodyne ARA so it will follow changes in the RC chord track.
Also you could have an audio record track that you can record audio on to the chord changes,
once done RC could save the audio track with bwf cue points (or with a data file that contains that info) as the chord names into your phrase library.
So dropping that audio phrase into RC will fit the chord sections out of the wav file to the chords in RC, it could time stretched, transpose to fit or substitute for unavailable chords.
Maybe down the track when you are bored and looking for something to do

The phrase disappearing problem is still there.. But, can't consistently reproduce it. After a while, the apply melody stops working too.

Also, a LOT of the generators that can be regenerated consistently stop drawing correctly in the phrase inspector. The data seems to be ok and pastes correctly and you can get the phrase back in the inspector by clicking the phrase.

The screen shot is what happens after a couple regens.. This is the selected piano chord pattern generator..

Also, just an update.. The first hurricane expected to make land fall just south of us on Monday as a category 1, the second expected to make land fall on Wednesday as a Category 2, just south west of us.

I don't know why that happens... When you enlarge the inspector, it should remember the size for each tab even if you quit and restart the application. Is the size reset to small every time?

Good catch, thanks! This is fixed now.

Let's hope the Category 2 will calm down somewhat until Wednesday...

Hi Steve,

it depends on the note 'quality' in the phrase. If it is a 'bass' note, then the slashed bass note will be played. Typically phrases use the chord root as the bass note.
You may want to open it in the phrase editor and change that note to 'bass'.
E.g. the Piano Chord Pattern Generator uses the 'bass' note as the bass, but it really depends on how the phrase was designed.

I imagine I'm not understanding your instructions correctly.

I tried to set notes to Note Kind: 'Bass' as shown in these pics, but I still get a B note out, not a Bb in each case.
