I wish their "prioritized support" will rise like a phoenix a well. Sent an email in July 2025, didn't hear anything. Sent a reminder yesterday, hopefully they (Matt I suppose) just missed my email from last year, and that it was a one-time thing.

Edit: And Matt did answer, so most likely he just missed my email last year. Which can happen :)

I never heard about version 2. On the vital site is no mention of it either…
I am not sure if there are cloned versions of Vital out there, they have to be open source as well…

1.6.4 available. (And still no changelog :help: )

Why do developers not provide a changelog?
Does anyone know?
2nd question is how common is it to not provide a changelog? Does this happen often?
I've almost never seen an audio plugin without a changelog.

The non open source version, colloquially called Version 2 came very early in the process. Version 2 is not an official name. Version 2 is essentially what everyone who knows about Vital, calls Vital. It is the existing version of Vital that is available for sale. It has never been open sourced. Version 1.0.6 open source required as part of the license (GPLv3 and trademark restrictions) that a name other than Vital be used when forked. You can find Vital version 1.0.6 open source releases under names such as Vitality, Vitalium, Vial, etc.

Interesting, it seems there are a few little new featurelettes introduced, longstanding issues not addressed (i.e. crash on Linux version when removing the plugin) and new regressions as well. And no changelog.
What's going on here? It's even worse than staying on a very old version with no news in years... Not brilliant at all.

Interessting - in CLAP on Linux (debian based, xwayland) i got mouse click lags on the internal keyboard and laggy mouse wheel feedback on knobs.
-bug-reported
no issues with midi controlling

Someone on the Vital forum told me this bug was an old one. So I reloaded v1.5.5 from 2022 again and found the same pitchwheel and modwheel graphics issue there as well.

These releases may be related to the fact that vital is bundled in Expressive E’s new synth shell ctrl-e for their new osmose ce controller, with a bunch of osmose friendly mpe presets?

I wasn’t aware of this! This would make complete sense, and would explain why there is no announcement on what’s changing in these latest updates.
