If there's anyone who is NOT to blame for the break-down of Camel Audio, it's surely ZenPunkHippy. He was a regular user before his support job for Camel Audio. But of course he don't want to chime in here just to say that he isn't allowed to say anything... Maybe we see him again as private user in a few months...egbert wrote:I have no doubt that whatever decision was made was made well above his pay grade - as the yanks say. I can't see the logic of holding him personally responsible for what has occurred. I don't think it is a stretch to offer our sympathy with any conflict of loyalty he might be caught up in here - he might be legally bound as an employee to keep the confidences of Camel-whatever-the-hell-it-is-now.

actually, i think it's become pretty clear that the silence is forced upon them for some reason. while this is not certain, the alternative i.e they just stopped trading without giving a f**k about their customers, does not align with their history as a company, and sounds pretty absurdNumanoid wrote:How do you know that, when Camel Audio has gone silent?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:realise that for the current time his hands are tied, and then cut him some slack
How do you know his hands are tied, that's just speculation.
this is separate from the speculating about what happened, or WHO happened

If they are not taken hostage, Camel Audio could at least post a little note on their webpage indicating what's going on, it's almost been a month.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:actually, i think it's become pretty clear that the silence is forced upon them for some reason.

One can keep saying that but some just don't want to get it.Kriminal wrote:if they were not, clearly he would have posted....Numanoid wrote:How do you know that, when Camel Audio has gone silent?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:realise that for the current time his hands are tied, and then cut him some slack

Yes he is still alive, and is still a thoroughly lovely guy, all the camel audio crew are still alive.Tricky-Loops wrote:I hope ZenPunkHippy is still alive...Numanoid wrote:I'm just thinking, way to go Camel Audio, that is the proper way to celebrate 15 years in existence, by going completely mute

Sorry for disturbing the wild speculations about the one and only ZenPunk (awesome guy!) with some more Alchemy Nostalgia - Bowed Guitar:

Yes it's pretty frustrating. It's easy for people to be nasty on the internet though, with no understanding of what is going on or the reasons why. I should stop looking at this thread really, it's just like 4chan now.trimph1 wrote:One can keep saying that but some just don't want to get it.Kriminal wrote:if they were not, clearly he would have posted....Numanoid wrote:How do you know that, when Camel Audio has gone silent?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:realise that for the current time his hands are tied, and then cut him some slack

ZPH hasn't made a post at KVR since 26 November 2014 and his last support post was 20 Nov. so he was long gone before whatever happened was finalized. He may have left CA when he saw what was coming but that doesn't explain why he simply stopped being active at KVR after having 10,163 posts.Tricky-Loops wrote:If there's anyone who is NOT to blame for the break-down of Camel Audio, it's surely ZenPunkHippy.
So all we really know is either everyone involved with CA can't say anything or won't say anything.........since no one has heard a word anywhere.
Other than that we simply don't know....and may never know......

again, that lack of communication is totally out of character as to suggest to most of us that they are not in control of how it is communicatedNumanoid wrote:If they are not taken hostage, Camel Audio could at least post a little note on their webpage indicating what's going on, it's almost been a month.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:actually, i think it's become pretty clear that the silence is forced upon them for some reason.
i could be wrong
none of this is to say that you don't have the right to be upset.

How can they not be in control when it says on the front page © Copyright 2000-2015 Camel Audio Ltd ?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:they are not in control of how it is communicated
They could at least use their webpage to post some pics of cute camels

i can imagine it would pretty impossible for him to maintain a 'normal' presence here while all this is happeningTeksonik wrote:that doesn't explain why he simply stopped being active at KVR after having 10,163 posts
it has been posted that he is ok
