no breath controller. just notes. here's the midi file. it sounds like crap by itself. made exclusively for milestone. you'll notice the velocities are the same for all notes. not a mistake. use the high.fxp for milestone first part and use low.fxp for milestone second part.

that's pretty cool dude. btw i did something too. didn't use any automation for pitchbend or automation. all notes' velocities are the same level. i tried getting the most out of it with nothing but notes.

And you're one fast player, seeing all those slurs... and that's exactly what I meant in my so-called "tip" about getting a dirtier sound.

i wish i could play live that fast.

this one ain't live unfortunately and was painfully edited note by note. if you look, even when the verse sounds the same, there's subtle differences to emulate reality/imperfection.

Ah, ah I first though it was edited seriously as there were those notes all over the place, but I was mistaken by their varying lengths... I hope you used a note duration randomization function.

Hey Guys! I'm back!

No, unfortunately I've got no time to watch olympic games on TV, as I've been very busy with my job, with my band (rehearsals and some gigs), and last but not least I had troubles with my internet connection (Tiscali!).
Sorry if I didn't reply some of your questions, btw I've read (almost) all of your posts here and I'm very happy to see you're liking Miles'tone.

I was waiting this saturday to get some rest (today I overslept!) and dedicate myself to the unfinish projects.

Here's a quick demo of my last sax model (# 12!)

sounds different from any other sax model i've heard.. i dunno what you're doing but i'd love to find out.. tinker around inside for different tonalities - if you care to include various reflection params et c. in the gui

i like my pm'ed sax softer and breathier (i'm precious aren't i.. alto/soprano models?) having little live experience with it, but some of the riffs (gapped notes?) could have passed for real imo.

just.. be you!!!! and hurry!

Cool to have you back Guido, we were sarting to worry ! Nice to hear you're working on the sax, it sounds good to my ignorant ears. Still has some strange spots here and there IMHO, but good overall. For example I'd expect a warmer, less harsh tone (it's a bit like it was not made of brass), and a more pronounced difference in timbre on soft notes.

But I'll let the specialists go into details, all I can offer is a Mr average point-of-view.

Sounds like something in between sax and trumpet with some "plastic" tones here and there.
It needs more body, more bass.
The wind noise is too loud and too high pitched.
Again the wind noise sounds like it's coming from a narrower instrument (like trumpet) and not from a wider hole like the sax.
Great start by the way , I am sure you will nail it eventually.

For a technical reason I'm not going to get into I can't control the expresion of the Miles'Tone VST with my midi controller but I'm posting my first experiment. Cuz I want to go try out the sax =)

*Edit* I'm hoping to get the expression working and see the difference

IMHO, that sax sounds very..... saxxy! It puts certain modeled saxes(developers un-named to prevent acute embarrassment) to shame.
