I read this whole thread, it's very interesting. Too bad 70% of the audio examples are not online anymore. Praise to those who let their examples stay in place for a long time. I know free hosting sites will usually wipe out your uploads after a certain time. Still I wish the audio examples would have a longer life span.
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

Eventually. In fact, CSR is the last dongled bit of IK software, so I imagine that it's next, and the update should be out within the next week or two.

It's not "for sure" but it's certainly FOR SURE, if you know what I mean. Squids reported a while back that ALL IKMM software was going dongle-less, and shortly thereafter the process began. Besides, it doesn't make sense to take the dongle off of everything BUT CSR. Anyway, the rest are done, and have been getting released about a week and a half away from each other, so I'm thinking CSR will be ready in about that time.
BTW, brok, it's so damn good. It really is the best VST verb by far IMO.

yes, some stuff i heard was nice ... however, there were some guys in this thread that tried to clone the sound of my reverb tails (first post of this thread) i did with the artsacoustic reverb (with the csr, and even expensive h/w) and the did not reach it ...
then again, if the csr is great, but only has a different character, aar and csr should niceley compliment each other ...
i'll try it, as soon the demo is up undongled ...

They do! Absolutly! You cannot say one or the other is better in general. I think, with AAR and CSR you have almost evrerything in terms of algorithmic reverb you need. As I have Lexi hardware, I don't need CSR, but I could never miss AAR.brok landers wrote: then again, if the csr is great, but only has a different character, aar and csr should niceley compliment each other ...

yeah, that's what i like most on the aar ...
it's simply unique sounding, just about no reverb i know of sounds like thisone.
i cannot wait to get my hand on csr to be able to compare and see how/if they compliment each other ... different colours make the picture ...
however, what is unbeatable to me:
the aar is the reverb with the greatest variety of sound to me.
it just does close to any job in any task with stunning results ...
it simply is able to surprise me again and again ...

The thing is, brok...you are able to make it sound amazing - because obviously you have the skills and know how to set a verb better than your average kvr-ian.
So I would love to hear what the CSR can sound like in your hands. In my experience, the CSR was easier for me to get the sounds I wanted to hear...it is really superb imho. Before the CSR, the Arts Acoustic was my favorite native verb. Now I find there's no going back...

well, it's all tweaking, and especially with the aar i cannot say it often enough:
do the unusual.
the parameters (like diffusion, roomsize and density) actually work ...
with other reverbs there was allways:
diffusion, desity and roomsize=full, just because these parameters simply did allways sound best that way.
not so with the aar ...
you have to let go conventional thinking when tweaking it ...
