That's great news. Thanks for sticking with us!insertpizhere wrote:I added velocity sensitivity for note triggering and fixed some bugs with midi thru... some of the reported bugs are kind of tricky for me to reproduce, but I'm going to try.

piz, if I could just ask a quick question... which hosts are you testing in and in the host you use are these final bugs not showing up? Are you still using eXT?
FWIW I was checking it out in Reaper, but I'll happily use it in eXT (VST) if that works fine. (I can't test at the moment till I get my new 'pute built (which is another story)).

I use both energyXT and Reaper regularly. With your reports in particular I think it would be easier for me if I had a project file with the setup that exhibits the bugs. Setting it up myself from the description is taking more concentration than I can get at this point (having two kids climbing on me 95% of the time).

Cool, I understand the kids thing - I've only got one climber at the moment with another along the way.
That's no problemo, realistically it'll be the end of next week before I could get it over to you (assuming used mobo I bought isn't dead after flashing BIOS when I get old chip to do it with). Do you have Sylenth1, z3ta or Albino so I can give you a simple project that makes (almost) unpainful noise?

No hurry... And I don't have any of those synths but that's no big deal. If you use something free I'd download it, otherwise I'll just replace it with something else.

Hi,
I can't get midi input to work correctly in Reaper using the latest Windows 7 64-bit version. It plays/records just fine when I use the mouse to click on the built-in virtual piano keys, and allows me to map different instruments/tracks to different slots. But when I try to use my external midi keyboard, I have to enable the "Thru" option, and then I only get the channel 1 instrument, even when I choose slot 2, which has another instrument mapped to channel 2.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Thank you, that explains why it doesn't work. Is there a way to make midilooper map midi to channel 2 automatically when I change to loop 2 in midilooper? That would be a really cool feature as it would let me change and record instruments directly in midilooper, without changing settings in Reaper.

my pleasure
hm
i never use the Record option of the ML but there is a channel selectors for every ( 128 ) slot
you can define the input and output channels for per slots as you wish
i hope it helps

I've been playing with midilooper and have run into a problem. Basically, when I start a loop playing, it will play twice through, then start skipping every other time through, using Cantabile as the host. Sometimes if I let i run for a while it will start playing every time through. Using Reaper, the dropout pattern was less predictable, but still frequent.
I've seen this on both of my systems, both running Windows 7 x64, using the 32bit or 64 bit midilooper and in hosts Cantabile and Reaper, again both 32 and 64bit.
I noticed a post back in June of a similar problem, but didn't see a response. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something screwy I'm doing, but I've been playing with this for the better part of a week now and getting nowhere.
Any ideas? If it would make a difference, I have other hosts I can try (Sonar X! and energyXT2.6) and I could try it on a Windows 7 x32 system.

I'm sure there is a bug, I just couldn't reproduce it by creating a loop and pressing play. If you send me a project from Cantabile or Reaper that I can just open, press play, and see the problem, I can probably fix it.

Let me see what I can put together. Any particular synth that would work for
you? I've been using Diva and messiah, but I don't think that matters. It's pretty strange, because I just copy the midilooper dll to my VSTI folder, click a few notes in loop 1, don't change anything else, hit play, hit play in Cantabile, and it drops the third, fifth, etc. I'm kind of guessing it's an issue around latency, and it got much worse if I turned off Cantabile's "Constant Latency MIDI" option.
The problem doesn't occur if I use energyXT2.6, by the way.

Okay, I don't think a project is going to help you.
If I change the audio settings to use 44100khz, the problem goes away in Cantabile. At 48000khz I see the problem.
energyXT works at either 44.1/48. Haven't tried Reaper yet, or the second system.
[Edit] Changing audio interface settings to 44.1 in Repear also resolved the problem.

Hopefully that will be enough to find the bug. Thanks for testing!

Hopefully. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
My second system reproduced the problem at 48 and fixed it at 44.1, for what that's worth. ASIO4ALL in both cases , using the embedded sound cards. Totally different hardware, one is an AMD Phenom II X4 system, the other an Intel i7. I can try some USB sound interfaces if that might help narrow things down.
