hmm, so I guess it's not DAW related problem (?) because I use them totally stable on Ableton Live Suite 8.1.1 (yea, should update to latest one, I guess 8.1.5 but ... I don't have timePeevy2000 wrote:There's no disputing that these plugins sound damn good but I find them just too buggy to use. I can just about use them in Reaper but Ableton Live 8 is a no go, I just tried SpectraphyLE limiter in a relatively small set & Live just freezes & I have to get the Task Manager up to quit it.D N A wrote:I use nxtasy + limiter in Ableton Live 8C00kie wrote:So what host are you using them in then? It's valuable info for all to know in which hosts these plugins work and in which they don't.
I use XP + Core 2 Duo.
I would say (for those who want to buy their plugins) - download demo versions - I don't like doing it but this time it's required
Soundbanks: Sylenth, V-Station, Z3TA+, Toxic Biohazard - good EDM Soundbanks

I am coming late to this discussion, but have to agree that for the most part there are a very few persons that keep posting the same complaints over and over and over. And based on the tone of their comments, I feel quite certain at least a few of them were probably very aggressive and antagonistic towards Crysonic, many complaining because they didn't get something "free". It appears a select few with an axe to grind have tried to overstate the problems.
I have been running the entire "Everything" bundle on a six year old Dell Dimension 3000 with a 2.80 GHZ. Pentium 4, 2 GB of RAM with no problems at all. I use them in Ableton Live 8, Cubease LE, and primarily Sonar 8.5 and X-1 (even though X-1 is recommended for a multi core processor, after consulting with them Cakewalk told me I could run it on my system, but might not be able use all the features or using very limited tracks at a time). And while I did initially have to contact support with some activation issues, they were always helpful, courteous, and fairly prompt.
It is forums and threads like this one that are basically someone venting their personal grudge and/or anger that make internet ratings a very sketchy thing. When one considers how many people comment that don't even own the product/products being discussed, it is amazing anyone bothers to look here for real information.

I also own the EverythingBundle and have been quite happy with it. But actually, Crysonic had quite a disputable behaviour over the years.
They promised 64bit versions of their current line of plugs which never came, addressing stability issues that were never solved, been unreachable for a while (not nice when you need them to re-activate).
You can add announcing the "next month" release of CryCoder for 1 and a half years without releasing it and opening a forum's account to simulate a new, rejoycing customer.
That said, everyone can go wrong and learn from error. I really like some of their products and had a pleasant experience dealing with them - had problems only once. I wish they will have a more professional attitude and finally release the 64bit of (at least) Sindo, nXtasy, Spectralive - so they can count on me as a customer. But, again, they announced the new Limiter release for mid-february and postponed it to...ehm, today. Still, nothing. Not a pic, not a demo...only a link to the pre-purchase.
There are better ways to interact with customers, indeed.

I have no dog in this fight but I can only say good night and good luck if you choose to continue to buy from them. The choice is yours. A few people have complained loudly, but that doesn't mean only a few people have been annoyed or worse by some of the ongoing actions of the company. If you followed the whole story as it unfolded, you would most likely understand why.

I bought a few of their plugins on the no brainer
Couple of remarks
1 They are coded in JUCE rather badly (The size of the .dll is madness)
(That is not a disrespect on JUCE, Look at Loomer stuff to see very well coded JUCE stuff)
2 They have serious drawing issues in many hosts
3 They are nothing special audibly
4 The amount of spam they send out is beyond belief
There are other issues too but these are the ones i remember off hand
Would i buy them again ? no way
Why haven't i put them on the marketplace for somebody else to buy ? because i would feel i was taking the piss out of anybody who bought them
I have offered to give them to a few friends, and after they tried them, they said no thanks
Do i hope they fail as a company damn no, i hope they put out something useful, but that is a dwindling hope it must be said

I completely disagree with this. I think soundwise their stuff is top-notch!NAS wrote:

dunno - I have them all (got them relatively recently in an unbelievable deal) - maybe their quality improved significantly over the years (just as is the case with Nomad Factory and Antress)?

Then you need to read and understand the history of Crysonic before posting.............e_scarab wrote:I am coming late to this discussion,

Crysonic plugins have always sounded like crap to me or done nothing at all but eat cpu.......I can't understand why they are still in business......then factor in their wonky history and my puzzlement simply grows............whatever...... as PT Barnum is so often wrongly attributed as saying........There's a sucker born every minute......
Anyone who defends Crysonic simply hasn't been paying attention over the last 6 years or so...........

spectralive did some nice work on some mastering i was doing for myself
(couldn't quite figure out all the controls tho!)
but on re-opening projects that it was loaded in to tweak (as you must do when trying to master yourself
)it would just crash the host.. every time!
not worth the effort in the end.

maybe placebo... but then again my impression could be right and yours wrong.
Who knows? Perhaps my ears are better trained than yours after all or maybe you didnt get how to tweak them? Some of their stuff is quite complex after all.
