I tried looking at the website, but no real info that I could find. I'm still running 32 bit, and I'm wondering if maybe this plug is 64. anyone know? thanks in advance.
Hi Michael, the MiniFilter V is compatible with Logic Pro X not Logic 9.

There's an article on the Arturia site where the scientist who made this, who has a PhD, goes through the process of making this new filter. It's all new code and not based on their prior Moog filters. Arturia freely admits that their previous Moog filter wasn't quite up to the task. Apparently this filter is a breakthrough in science and gets closer in making a zero delay loop which correctly recreates the nonlinear aspects of the original Moog filter. Apparently recreating the linear aspects of filters is easy, its all the nonlinear stuff which is where most modern software ZDF filters fail.

Has anyone been able to compare this filter to the Legend, The Drop and Monark yet?

lol there's a research paper in that link with all the maths for you to read through.

Anyway hopefully this new filter probably means they are working on a complete rewrite for the Minimoog virtual plugin. We'll see how close they get (to real analogue) this time.

Well, we all have the full version registered to our accounts, so unless they have a way of telling who got it for Xmas and who bought it, I don't see why not. :)

Yeah, I hope so too, but one of my new years resoultions is to become an even more paranoid numanoid  :D

Kind of weird that they haven't changed the url:

.../get-your-free-minifilter-v

And then there is no free minifilter for the latecomers...

Probably for Google's sake, or something.

I can't really go through the maths, but there's some digression about the article on this topic

fmr posted a sequence (Axel F) recorded with Monark, Arturia Mini-V and Minimonsta on that topic too, here.

Thanks for those links. I had missed those discussions. That's a very interesting read and fascinating read.

But I think that Axel f comparison was made before the new Arturia filter was released. It's supposed to be different from the one they use on the synth plugin.

I've compared it to the Monark filter, and this Arturia sounds better. I don't care what sounds more "authentic", if I needed the original for some absurd reason I'd just go to the nearest market and buy one, and both handle modulation well being ZDF, but on a purely subjective level Arturia just has more meat/girth/punch and a more musical resonance.

I'm frankly surprised about the response in this thread and lack of hype, but I guess it should have the U-he label to make KVRians wet their panties, sound quality must not be very important here.
