:dog: FATHOM LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS :dog:

Also, one more thing, I am developing my final software post-mortem on Fathom’s OSC performance.

This contest has been a rare opportunity to have Fathom used by many of the best synth artists in the world, all at one time.

My ultimate goal is to get Fathom to the point where it is generally considered the best synth GUI on the market, but there is still a long way to go, and some serious flaws that need to be resolved.

Those of you who have correctly noticed frustrating things about Fathom, please send in a brief list of your things you would like changed.

support@fathomsynth.com

Keep your list brief and avoid long descriptions, and usually a once sentence item is all I need to know exactly what you are referring to. Between one and ten items per user is ideal.

Ask yourself “What would I change in this synth to make it my primary sound design tool.”

You do not need to spare my feelings on this.

If there is something you think that really sucked about the GUI or the sound, say so, since I will be using these comments to make a development plan for the next couple months.

Very kind of you, i have a few items to share! Thanks for being so open to ideas.

@Scrubbing Monkeys and everyone else who is interested:
here's some stuff about that strumming guitar. Don't try this at home, unless to compensate for lack of a guitar, recording equipment, playing skills or to compensate for OSC rules :hihi:

Edit: the ZIP contains a MIDI file, the preset (slightly modified), a description on how to write guitar midi notes and an example audio file which I used as a reference.

Edit2: Good luck to you all! Sounds like a heavy electronic music dominated round
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Seems like a useful option to have so a +1 from me :tu:

ah yes, and from me, too +1

Awesome, looking forward to opening this up. The end result was fantastic.

What browser are you using? Did you try different ones?

i've decided this month i really don't have time to listen to all of the tracks. So, instead i've created a mask which shows the proper envelope of a WAV file for a proper tune. So, what i will be doing with each track is overlaying the waveform in Soundcloud with the pattern below, and score all the tracks accordingly. i apologize in advance to those of you sausaging out all of your tunes with limiters turned to 11. i wish you luck this round, and hope you all uploaded your best, most prettiest wav files.

oh, and happy day after April 1st

STILL NOT LOUD ENOUGH

Post

8) Nothing you can do to help people always comparing sausage size. One of my favorite tracks of this round is one of the quietest. I used a volume control to ensure that my listening level was my preferred volume.

Contrary to this common misconception, the final limiting stage is ideally not where loudness is achieved. Rather eq, instrument compression, saturation, and parallel NY heavy compression, often multiband on mixbuses does a much better job of getting your track to commercial levels. I draw the line around Bangarang volume, which sacrifices too much bass for my taste. Good luck. :tu:

I've finished voting, and I realize that the more I scale entries against each other rather than on a scale of individual achievement, the less enjoyable the otherwise pleasant listening experience is. :(

Regardless of the vote, you all did great work and succeeded in this beautiful challenge! You did an amazing job creating something musically enriching and exquisitely enjoyable.

Ironically, given the sound design capability of Fathom and Taron, I think Taron could’ve easily won this round if he had entered. However, you all succeeded in the challenge and have beaten Taron the Great by default. :borg: You're all winners
quick, _ake what you want in life

Speaking of loudness, can't get Limiter No.6 to show up in Studio One.

Totally bums me out... Back to LoudMax I guess. :?

Oh, and...

I VOTED
