Also I just noticed that the trick I showed in the video where you retain your search selection when browsing for grooves DOES NOT work if you just use the up/down arrows in the mini-browser at the top.
Being as this fabulous new functionality is, as far as I can tell, an undocumented feature, this leads me to think it is, in fact, a bug! I'm fearful they might remove it in an update...

Huh - third party expansions for XO. This is new, isn’t it? Bundle here (also available separately):
https://d-fusedsounds.com/index.php?rou ... duct_id=94
How does this work? At they authorised by XLN in some way? If not, why can’t anyone do it?

Anyway... I don't regrets the plugin perse. I don't want to get rid of my old workflow with drumracks in ableton though... but dude.. this thing is really something.
The sequencer is .... allright... but I guess I will use the daw for that. XO is excellent at what it is... an intelligent one-shot sample cloud searching tool. For me that's the selling point and the sequencer is just only an addon.
Atlas seems interesting but... if you already have XO, whats the point to even buy another plugin which does almost the same?

XO has its well-documented flaws, but I'd rather work with those than also buy Atlas which fixes many of those flaws but has its own different set of flaws.
What makes XO great for me is its beating heart, the voodoo algorithm that makes it sublime and fun to work with. The rest I can live with.

I own both and it’s true their are pros and cons, the main difference seems to be that ATLAS is still being developed and is frequently updated (2.2 beta looks very nice) so AtLAS issues and missing features may get addressed at some point, whereas I have given up on XO being updated.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Stick to XO for a few months at least. You won't need Atlas 2 at all.

you know you can ctrl + drag any sample from the map or the pad straight into the drum rack and also simply just drag and drop the midi, right? So you can build your kit and/or groove in XO and quickly move on to other tools... I love XO mostly because it just works with pretty much any workflown I I e wrote: Sat Feb 12, 2022 7:35 am I don't want to get rid of my old workflow with drumracks in ableton though... but dude.. this thing is really something.

I know I know... but what if in the last minute want to change my drum samples to try a different vibe? All your work done preparing the drumracks get lost (layering, fx chains, etc..). So I have to commit beforehand. I love drumracks so I'll probably try hard choosing the kit in XO and then commit on drumracks and never look back....gondii wrote: Sat Feb 12, 2022 9:35 amyou know you can ctrl + drag any sample from the map or the pad straight into the drum rack and also simply just drag and drop the midi, right? The midi drag and drop is great too. Love it. You have to admit XO is one of the most fun machine drum right now on the market.

dont want to be captain hindsight here but I in general only buy music software at discount (release discount also counts). there are very few developers which are exceptions but the majority of them offer at least twice but up to multiple times a year heavy discounts.n I I e wrote: Sat Feb 12, 2022 7:35 amOhh shut up already will you?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 4:54 pm Meanwhile, XO and XOpaks are 50% off on Plugin Boutique.I just bought XO almost full price just a day before the discount at pluginboutique. Even at half price, the expansions aren't pulling me to buy them. How are the sounds in the packs, pretty much more of the same?
