A guitar from pink noise. Can´t imagine how that works but Thanks anyway TNS!
And Thanks for the file leonard!
Was fooling arround with the frogs presets and accidently played mouth harp, banjo and echo flutter together. If someone need western movie sounds maybe try that.

61 tracks is a lot to hear. I'm surprised with so many variated styles. Vital is a beast that permits almost anything to be done with him. in general, all OSCers had great sound design, and I became surprised with so many realistic, almos organics sounds that were made.
There was too many excelent tracks this time, so I don't expect to be in the first 5; but it was a really funny to hear all the music made, the versatility of Vital and I learned a lot.
For me, I have a new favorite generic synth. Probably,, I'll use it for almost any sound, except for simulation of hardware etc.
Good luck to all.

The work is done by the comb filter. You pump a pulse of noise into a comb filter tuned to the frequency of the note, and the comb repeats it at the frequency of the note. These combs have additional filtering that can make the high frequency harmonics drop off faster, so you get an initial burst of high frequency noise that decays naturally to the note you're playing, very much like a plucked string. Comb parameters and additional filters/EQ/other effects can color the sound to be more like a guitar, banjo, or other instrument.garryO wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:42 am A guitar from pink noise. have seen you use these combs a lot, somehow they add very much atmosphere.
not so much knowledge with harmonics, notes and stuff. Maybe thats why i didn´t like using the comb filters when trying things.

61 tracks are quite a lot, but taking inspiration from Adam Cadabra, i created an Excel-Sheet with categories and points from 0-5 and it really helped me to rate each entry (and also less biased by personal taste in musical genres) The overall quality is amazing. Well done everyone
Vital was amazing - It´s incredible how versatile it is and how much stuff you can do even with the free version (Thanks Matt Tytel for this VST)
Here are my 21 Presets I used for this OSC, I tried to bring them to the same Audio Level (more or less - I´ve no experience in Presetcreation XD)

Use your KVR account
I and other new OSCers had to set a good strong password, else registration failed.
I used one of the free strong password genarator webpages and it worked straight away.
You can still change the PW afterwards.
Hope this helps in your case.

Took me quite some time to go thru all the tracks and really enjoyed listening to so much diversity and approaches to sound design and music. I am glad I learned about the OSC when teaching myself the amazing Vital synth. This competition has been a very fulfilling experience for me.
I wouldn't have thought there was a place on the internet where people share the same passion for music, composition, sound design, etc; yet the community is also super friendly and respectful. I am very impressed not just by the art and craft by listening to the OSC 142 playlist, but also by the character of people I have come to know via the OSC.
Good luck to every one of you!
