You could go ultra analog and use voice stacking with random using the CLAP version of DivaEnGee wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:28 am Voice Stack is sick in Bitwig! Today I've learnt how to use it and I believe it can do (with the Random module) great analog sounds if designed carefully. I'm going to use Polysynth to see if I can reach the quality of Diva pad sounds (for example).
Live 12 or Bitwig 5.1

Good suggestion! Especially that Diva is not that cpu unfriendly anymore.PieBerger wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 1:27 pmYou could go ultra analog and use voice stacking with random using the CLAP version of DivaEnGee wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:28 am Voice Stack is sick in Bitwig! I don't know about the sound quality... but you can definitely reach the CPU consumption of DivaEnGee wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:28 am Voice Stack is sick in Bitwig! The Voice Stacking is a powerful sound design tool. Works well for doing granular stuff in the Sampler... for layering two close but different sounds... stack of two and pan them left and right... great for 2 sequences that offset each other... etc., etc., etc.
The new capabilities in 5.1 for soloing each voice, and the tools for working with each stacked voice in the Grid are impressive.

It opens a new dimension in sound design especially if combinex with the different modulators there.pdxindy wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 4:13 pmI don't know about the sound quality... but you can definitely reach the CPU consumption of DivaEnGee wrote: Sat Dec 23, 2023 11:28 am Voice Stack is sick in Bitwig! The only two things (or synths) that I miss now are NI Razor and a good physical modal synth like Objekt. That's why I sometimes use Windows or Mac. It's because of that.
Anyway, I still can use only Bitwig, but I must design my own sounds because what's there aren't that good enough for me, which is a great practice to use as much as I can of Bitwig's abilities in sound design

This drive me NUTTTS in Bitwig. Why? can't you invert the zoom motion??? It would literally be 2mins programming, it's just a switch. I absolutely can't stand it that it is the complete opposite to every other DAW. Another one: Why... oh why... the smart tool works the compete opposite to all the other DAWs. Grab at the top of the clip and select at the bottom of the clip. It is massively pain in the bum when it's in your muscle memory and when using multiple DAWs. And why would they not implement a switch to make this optional? They do everything inverted just for the sake of. Anyway...
Merry Crimbo Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your holidays with family and friends.

Isn't this a Christmas magic? Thank you! If you had a solution for the smart tool as well...xbitz wrote: Mon Dec 25, 2023 8:53 am ^^^ dashboard/user interface/

5 underrated DAWs that aren't Logic, Ableton or Pro Tools, and why you should consider switching
https://www.musicradar.com/news/5-under ... -switching...Bitwig is no longer the beginner DAW it once was, but a supercharged creative monster. Some concepts might take a mind shift but are worth exploring for going on tangents you will not have considered...
