Welcome back Mr. Hunter! :).

No, I'm not too worried about consistency, but I would have liked to have the entire ranges available--- I never read on the site that, for example, Concert Strings II had a full range while Diamond did not. (Am I correct that it does?) It's really a shame on my end because I didn't know. I notice that only certain notes have glissando up/down, while higher notes only have glissando up and not down. it's hard to tell when samples are missing or not.

The same problem is with Concert Brass II. I think another person mentioned a couple times that there were some missing articulations.

MY biggest problem is that for some reason, playing certain notes repeatedly occasionally yields no sound. It's hard to put into words, and I don't have the exact notes in mind, but it's a problem that occurs in all of the libraries I have: Diamond and Concert Brass II. (For the purposes of my ragtag explanation, see Concert Strings I from Diamond)

Notenotenotenotenothingnotenotenothingnotenote. It doesn't happen all the time, but only when played in certain patterns or lengths. I can't predict it, but I know for sure that it seems to happen on all of the Diamond solo strings (less often the other divisions, if at all), and solo instruments from Concert Brass II. Concert Strings II might have the same problem, but I can't test this. From what I remember, someone else might have reported the issue with Concert Strings II as well though.

Basically, I am worried most about the aforementioned problem. there might be some missing roundrobin samples. This is the best explanation I can muster at the moment, so I hope it's somewhat helpful.

Thank you very much. :)

**Yes. I am able to play other sounds in there--just not KH.

...sigh... I'll contact Hunter directly and see if we can figure things out.
Are you sure it's the full version of Kontakt 5 and not the free "player" version?

Well, it's always easiest to help when I can duplicate the issue. Therefore, give me:
1 The exact name of the instrument with the issue
2 The articulation of the instrument that yields the issue.

It seems that round robin try to access samples that are not loaded in a specific dynamic range. I tried with smart legato on/off and with staccato and legato and still persist.
It seems only on basic samples although (smooth and adagio); if you have an accent on (or other articulations like pizzicato or tremolo), when it happens you can still hear the accent alone with no sustained note.
Trills in Diamond cello (solo and 3 players divisions) doesn't play at all but maybe this is how it's supposed to be (still didn't read the manual).
Hi Kirk, this is what I wrote some time ago to synchronize,r if it can help. I will investigate more ad let you know. I'm on a Mac here with snow leopard and Kontakt 5

Investigate Diamond Viola and Double bass as well, as I've had the problem occur when using those instruments as well.

Thank you so much for helping with the explanation EdC! I wouldn't have been able to specify the issue much better than you have.

Ok, I'll look into this tomorrow! Thanks!

There also seems to be a bug Concert Strings II - basses. When divisilive is turned on and you select half divisions + whole or half trillers you don't hear any sounds. Can someone else please check this out ?

This is because for CS2 basses, only the whole and half divisions have trills.

Diamond basses don't have any trills at all... what? Aren't these supposed to be fundamental, no offense?

You didn't pay attention. The basses in Diamond were culled from former libraries known and "Emerald" and "Ruby". At that time, those libraries were meant to be very useful, but only in the most common implementations.

Well in any case I would have liked to get CSII eventually, but would it be possible for someone to do a showcase video? There literally aren't any insightful ones.

Anyway, my main concern is the other sample-playback issue that we were discussing. I'll be looking forward to hearing about that.

Thanks.

So, I've been downloading Diamond and in reviewing the list of downloads I'm wondering why that second column skips from 39_Chamber_Basses_Mute.zip to 45_Concert_French_Horns.zip? The first column progresses sequentially and it seems that the full range of instruments is represented, however, I can't help but wonder if there are some missing files that were supposed to be 40_, 41_, 42_, 43_, and 44_?

The last file in the list is 97:97_Celesta.zip and the sequence noted above seems to be the only anomaly.

Any of you folks who purchased Diamond have any thoughts?

Btw, looks like the Black Friday pricing purchase links are still up and active.

I bought Diamond a year or 2 ago.

I have all of those files in sequential order, including 40-44.

But;

They are the solo strings folders and the folder structure seems to have changed since then with the solo strings being in their own folder.

If you have solo strings then you probably have everything.

It's important that the numbers at the very left are sequential. The directories structure could change over time as P.T. described.
Anyway I miss the same folders but never had a 'sample missing' warning.

Yes, they are in the Solo Strings folder - my guess is that was done as Solo Strings was subsequently created as a separate product.

PS: Make sure that the 2 Solo Strings folders have __ as the prefix to their names.
