TAL-U-NO-LX. Uber accurate Juno 60 emulation.

What's your problem? I have not even said anything bad about it, the only thing I don't do is be part of that sheep choir singing in unison how great it is. Again, it is a nice, simple, slick synth, I never said anything else. Its limitations are not TAL's fault, but Roland's so to speak.
But unless for whatever reason someone is really into that specific vintage synthesizer model, I see no reason to buy it. It is more of a collector's or retro thingy it seems to me. Whether it is a near-perfect emulation or not, why would someone who is not a Juno 60 fan even care? At the end of the day all that matters to me is whether or not I get more or less the sound I want and need for my music out of any given synth...

Hey, if you guys wanna go & argue about which synth does what, that's fine.
I'm just happy to have a $35 Juno-60, that doesn't weigh 100 lbs.
Although I do miss the real wooden side panels.

the end caps on the Juno-60 are "fake". ie - particle board with faux woodgrain veneer.

All together there are almost 500 presets (470+) for U-NO-LX now which is amazing based on the simple synth engine. Around the half of those presets seem to be from Fernando (aka fmr).

i just reprogrammed the "Blade Runner" sound based on the video here:

You could copy this to the existing preset folders or create a new one. For finding the preset folder you could use "Show Preset folder..." from the menu in GUI of U-NO-LX.

You should have the "MAN" switch in the LFO section enabled for controlling the LFO TRIG switch with a controller. In the preset above the "MAN" switch is already enabled and LFO TRIG is already routed to the Modwheel. This is saved with the preset.

If not alraedy done (like in this preset) you could assign the LFO TRIG switch to the Modwheel like this:
- click on "Midi Learn" (at the CONTROL section)
- click on "LFO TRIG" (at the CONTROL section)
- move the Modwheel at your MIDI controller
- click on "Midi Learn" again to disable it
- enable the "MAN" switch in the LFO section

Of course for better control of the amount you could also assign the "LFO" slider in the DCO section to the Modwheel. You have to deactivate the "MAN" button in the LFO section then.

In the video they added an external Delay and Reverb FX, you could try the same. As already mentioned in this thread also adding an EQ could be nice in some cases. Several free FXs are available at the TAL website:

I have tried U-NO-LX with the TAL-Dub-2 Delay and TAL-Reverb III which seems to sound nice.

U-NO-LX was designed to recreate a Juno-60 as good as possible. Nothing more and nothing less. I don't know why some people are not able to accept this.

Exactly. I am sure there are many people who do like U-NO-LX exacly the way it is. For those who don't like it there are lots of other choices including some free synths from TAL.
Discussing again and again what U-NO-LX could NOT do seems to be a bit silly to me as it's supposed to be a Juno-60 emulation and based on that it's limited to a certain set of features (which are already improved/enhanced compared to the real thing).
Not to mention that i doubt there were even approximately as many presets for the real thing as we got now for U-NO-LX (including the extra banks).

I am also sure that based on the experiences with programming U-NO-LX there will some more amazing synths from TAL in the future.

I agree, I hope TAL will create a modern synth of its own again, without being bound by any specifications that emulations bring about. Maybe an advanced Noisemaker with formant filters and what not The collapsible design allows for several additional modules to be included into the GUI...

I still don't get what you are up about. It was known that U-NO-LX is a faithful Juno-60 emulation with the same limited feature set. Anyway there are a few advanced features. You were also able to check the demo yourself to get your own impression.
If after all that you complain that U-NO-LX is too limited for you it's strange but why you don't just move on then?

I'm sure there will be some more synths from TAL in the future including one you'll like maybe.
BTW with the intro price U-NO-LX seems to be a bargain, no matter if the synth got limited features or not...
Anyway i agree that the full price of 70$ will be a bit much maybe. A final price of 50$ could be a better choice.

Yes, I thought the same regarding the price, I also thought of 50 bucks as a more appropriate final price. That is the price range of the Fabfilter One for instance. Oops, just checked their site, it's 50 Euros, not dollars. I am not sure how they compare, though.

Currently 1 Euro = 1.256 $

So 50 Euros = 62.80 $

At the Fab FIlter website they charge 64$ for Fabfilter One if you change the currency.

Personally I got U-NO-LX exactly for what it is built for.

For more advanced sounds i got other synths like e.g. Oxium, Saurus, Synthmaster 2.5, ElectraX, Largo and several more.

i would not recommend U-NO-LX as your only synth except if it's sounds are the only ones you need which of course is possible.

U-No-LX seems to be the bets Juno-60 emulation but if you search for other free and commercial Roland emulations you could check the list here (also includes the TAL plugins):
