Very nice. I love the sounds that you used. The “whale” guitar is awesome. Another very well produced song. I like the mood that this sets. What else can I say. Very cool.
Thanks P.L. :) Glad you liked it.

I see we are doing the "one-post-per-track-reviewed" this month. I will follow suit so as not to upset the apple cart. (and to up my post count :hihi:)

Hi Scuzzphut.

I see we are doing the "one-post-per-track-reviewed" this month. I will follow suit so as not to upset the apple cart. (and to up my post count )

It was 4 pages long in MS Word, so I didn't want to take the risk . I didn't want one post to be the equivalent of 4 pages long
Play it by ear

I missed a few replies to people that reviewed my song so I thought I'd combine them into one: thanks for taking the time to publish your reviews! The criticisms I have seen are very helpful in improving/objectifying my perspective on my music and I must say that seeing that people like my stuff is an incredible boost for my ego... :)

Fitch - Cell
Nice beat. I like the interplay of the minors and major s - gives it a wee edge. The strings are beautiful, as we would come to expect :) A lovely composition , but I can't help feeling the beat is somehow superfluous. I'd probably have liked it even more than I do if it was "beat-less".

Tancos - Threnody
The flute sounds quite realistic. A nice atmosphere is created , but I find it ultimately doesn't grab my attention a great deal.

Miro - Dirty City

I like the muffled vocal. Creates a good underpinning. The rhythmic element is good with a cool bassline. NIce pattering percussion towards the end. No real "hook" though. Good mix and production.

Mr. Tunes - Dub Side of the Tune

A genre we don't often hear on KvR which you've pulled off well. Instantly reminded of the Specials "Ghost TOwn" (this is a *good thing*). Great atmosphere and a nice lead line. All the production tricks in there one would expect - especially liked the reverbed timbales at the end. Made me smile :)

Post

T-Willy - Far Away
I'm afraid this doesn't do it for me. The lyric is trite. The music generic and cheesy. The vocal breakdown towards the end builds up to nothing.
:? Not my cup of tea. :? [/b]

The Dumb ANgels - If I could Find the Words

Effects in the middle are interesting. This is quite mix up of a tune . It's certainly in a style of it's own- which is to be commended. Some nice sounds and production, but ultimately left me cold.

Duncan Parsons - Indecision

I think this would benefit greatly from a real sax. The chord progressions and lead line work well, but the lead sound - the fake saz - grates on me. Interesting use of the jazzy chords and sax, mixed with the electronic percussion, which almost descends into Disco cheesiness, but manages to contain itself.

7Zark7 - Mayfly

This has a certain charm. The high tempo drums are cool, but could benefit from some variation. I like the digital sounding backing chords. No hook to reel me in , though.

Thomas Christensen - Odd

This walks it's own line. :) I like that you know what you want and who cares if it's bonkers. Some of the Simmons type drum sounds are a bit out of place. Great programming and a cool atmosphere. Interesting.

Liqih - Orazione Danzante

Sounds like the soundtrack to a French movie to be made in 2017. :) I like the off-beat feel and the rhythm is enhanced by the camping accordion chords. Good bassline, too. Again - this is your own genre, which is admirable.

Kyle Altenderfer - Shove Me Into

Good acoustic guitar work :D The vocal is quite strong and the chorus has quite a strong hook. This is a really well done song, with a good mix and production, although there's a lot of this style of music out there right now. Like the fact that you took it down at the end - I assume the longer mix comes back up again? :D
