Absolutely! MIDI pitch bend messages to the synth are perfectly fine, just not plugins that post-process the audio with pitch effects.
Vocals and any other audio input not coming from the synth is not allowed. It's like using samples. That's how I interpret the rules... Otherwise we didn't had to discuss all the SFZ issues.

Take care. ;)

Yeah, it would be awesome to use the vocoder mode... but alas, it appears that there are no inputs in the VSTi version in REAPER either (which pretty well lists out all the I/O a plug provides), I assume that's really just about the only difference between that & the FX version... a shame, as vocals would almost be legal in this OSC. :)

Here is my submission for the month. This is WAY different than my usual, but for some reason I was just in the mood. Lot's of major life changes these days, and all for the better. Quite a bit slower than my usual but I think it worked. I must admit, mixing a track at 84BPM versus 124 BPM is really quite different. I have a lot to learn. Also, at tempo this slow, my song came out to almost 9 minutes. Shit! I had to edit the crap out of it, and take out a lot of the slowly evolving automation....not trying to bore you guys to death  This synth is pretty bad-ass once I got past some of the quirky pitch issues.

Hope you enjoy and good luck this month.

Yep! UI is not my favorite, sound engine rocks hard core.

Yup....definitely great sound whether it was single filtered oscillator or some complex layered/unison craziness. I really liked how you could completely vary the slope of the analog style filter as opposed to 2/4 pole only. I think the UI issues are completely fixable and glad I purchased as I'm sure updates down the road will make this a great synth. Did anyone else open the list of automation parameters? It was like an encyclopedia index! Almost too many........I just wanted filter cutoff!!!!!

My Submission

24 instances in Logic X with Logic EQ and Compressor

No presets, all sounds from the new init preset. Feeling a little political, sorry.

Hi all,

Attached (hopefully) are part 1 of the patches I made for this competition.

Most are made from init, but a couple, perhaps three, are modified versions of patches already in the OSC 73 bank.

I did not end up using all of them in my entry, but I hope you find them useful.

:)

Yep. Thanks for sharing GrokSynth :)

@SoundGoddess: Do you have got the time for to putting GrokSynth`s patches on our OSC bank or shall I do? I have got 2 days off up from today and so I could, but it would be also cool if you would have got the time for doing this because I will be busy these days.

Here's take #2 of my contest entry this month:
https://clyp.it/vk52jiwe

I feel like I'm mostly finished with the song at this point, but I might want to tweak it a bit before submitting the final version to SoundCloud. I cut a couple minutes from the song since I felt it was getting a bit overdrawn. I added some claps and effects and sidechained the kick so it stands out more. Overall it's a lot tighter, but I don't feel like it lost anything in the process.

Feedback is very much welcome, I'd like to make this song sound as good as possible. :tu:

I haven't tried doing everything with a single synth before, but the restriction does seem to boost creativity. I did use a lot of presets since I have Everything pack, so maybe for the next challenge I'll try to design most of the sounds from scratch myself.

Hi all, forgive me .. but ... I have made a few changes to my track, well ... lots of extra notes around the various transitions between the two synth "players" - I have been imagining how the two would sound if they were "playing" to a live audience and competing with each other, as well as playing together. They usually have some signal to each other to when they take over (rather than a fixed number of bars!), and this is usually a "signalled riff" which hopefully the other player notices and jumps in (hehe, but the best plans can go awry eh? :dog: ).

I have also pulled up the kick, toms and snare to give the track even more "punch" :box:

Hope you like it this time round.
