Well it has that izoptope charme. The browser now definitely is the main thing which fits the rompler aspect. Tagging system looks a bit sparse, let's see if we can modify it. Overall it looks clean but I don't know. Feels to me like something is missing or so. Not that convinced or impressed as I was hoping for tbh.

I immediately dislike that delay & reverb are so far apart. Those are controls that often are tweaked together and now that big browser is in between. F*** symmetry, I would have liked it if the browser would have been on one side and the controls on the other.Magnut wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 3:14 amFeels to me like something is missing or so. Nice! Looks great!
Ok, I see new macro knobs, a features tab, but the browser seems to be the obvious change here. I'd really like to see more. Are there more filter types? More effects? No more mix section - maybe under the features area?

I think it would have made more sense to have the filters and amp mod on the left, and the delay and reverb together on the right.Gregorius wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 3:25 amI immediately dislike that delay & reverb are so far apart. I agree about the controls, but that's something I can get used to with usage in time. Definitely love the new browser. I was hoping for the ability to be able to layer the patches, but it doesn't look like that's available, unless it's hidden. Mixer page?

I know the vector guis cannot be very complex looking but this looks really simple and a bit cheap to me ;D but it is all about the sound and workflow.

Well on the plus side, it does have tags and that is better than what we have now by some margin. But what a bizarre implementation. Those colour bands seem to be the primary way of viewing attributes in the browser, so you'd presumably first select the one(s) you want from the three dot menu. Then once done the colour bands don't line up with the names, so its hard to see what is what. I also don't see a genre field either, which I'd have thought was a real primary colour for Nexus users. Maybe there's more to be revealed. Speaking of which...
Most surprising omission as far as I can see... where's the mixer? I see tabs / labels for the different areas, but mixer is MIA. It must have one, right? Where could they have hidden it?
Not much fussed one way or the other about everything else. Btw, each of the sections - delay, envelope etc - has three dots next to it, so it could be you can move these around to taste as compactus says above.

This was my first thought as well. The idea of rearranging these blocks is quite appealing.Loudness_Contour wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:56 amI think it would have made more sense to have the filters and amp mod on the left, and the delay and reverb together on the right.Gregorius wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 3:25 amI immediately dislike that delay & reverb are so far apart. Could be behind the features tab.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2019 8:20 am Most surprising omission as far as I can see... where's the mixer? I see tabs / labels for the different areas, but mixer is MIA. It must have one, right? Where could they have hidden it?

Pay one! Pay all! Pay us for updating our software to modern standards!!!
I've just jumped into this fray, and wondering if anyone has discovered or read about any new features making this upgrade worth $100 (for me)? I have a bit of a hard time justifying paying a decent sum for ReFX to update their UI and browser - two features I feel should have just been part of the software's natural development and growth a few years back!
Any info on new or improved voice mixing, or patch stacking, or similar means to modify, blend, and/or create new sounds within its closed system?
Also, I never understood why software developers who also make 100s of sound banks can't/won't include a few free banks to sweeten the deal to faithful users (buying their banks through the years) who are now facing the need to shell out some significant scratch for an upgrade!? I mean it would appear to be little or no skin off their end!? And it would sure make the pain of paying less searing and more satisfying for us loyal and faithful supporters! (cue humming of the Canadian Nation Anthem faintly in the background)
Unless I see something more than window dressing on this update, I suspect I'll be continuing with 2.0, unless they somehow pull that rug out from under me! C'mon ReFX - give us a bone! (as opposed to just boning us)
