I wish I knew what you are talking about
I've been repeating myself time and time again over the last few pages. I was about to do exactly that...Stating the same thing I've already stated.

I'm not going to discuss:
My Strat with gold lace sensors
My Tele copy
My Godin Freeway
My Parker

Nashville Tele's, Brent Mason's Tele, James Burtons Tele and the differences in wiring between them.

At least for the next few pages.
I promise.
Why not?

Talk about it all you want!

Its green and has its own smell, hard to say if I'd class it as stinky as I've been using it for different injuries for a number of years and am well used to it.

If it works, you will find you will use a lot of it in the beginning, especially the first month, but after a while the pain seems to take progressively longer to return.

Hopefully it might bring you some relief.
I'll put in an order. In the meantime, I've got that appt. with sports medicine on the 18th. The stretches haven't really been doing anything but hopefully some specialized treatment will improve the situation.

I had a hip/back issue that was SO BAD, and physical therapy helped so much. Hopefully this will be similar :)

What do you guys think of the new EVH striped series? Gimmick, or serious contender?

http://www.evhgear.com/new2013/

I like the EVH Wolfgang specials from Japan, but now that they're making them in China, I lost interest  I mean honestly, do you think they could have the same quality of the ones made in Japan? I compared the two and the one from China had really sharp fret ends and didn't have the same feeling on the neck (The big selling point for me).

The new "striped series" looks really interesting! Isn't it basically a Charvell, with the famous striped paint job?

I would have to see the price and play one Rich, anything "signature" to me is likely a gimmick though
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I hope it works out for you, physical therapy is definitely a plus.

I wouldn't know about the China thing. My MM (that I'm not likely to keep) has rough fret ends and my latest indo ibby has ends smooth as a babies bottom. However I have heard the China guitars are not usually the best.

I love the way they look. I played an EVH at a store once. The FR wouldn't pull back at all. I don't know if that is they way they are or what. Nice neck though. But it was made in some far off land too (not japan)

+1 mate, I would also like to know if this one was built by more the Charvel team/side than Fender myself, necks like modern Jackson's are so much a fair between fast and thin/modern c and a chunkier c profile (Thanks to the compound radius)...With the rod in the neck it seems that Jackson may well have had input but gone for/used the Charvel compound radius and profile (again good if true IMVHHO with their neck profiles and the compound radius used. Much different to all of my and all I have tried pre-FMIC Jacksson and Charvel, I do love those a lot for personal preference and allow rapid everything and precision. Still the post-FMIC are a lot more all around pleasing even though they are way less flat and the profile is a much more slinky C). They should be a lot, lot more reasonable than that Frankenstein replica/relic they did :O I'll beat my own proudly and mangle its aesthetics myself thank you very much :hihi: Its only of use sometimes on the neck

So yeah it has to be priced reasonable and play very well for me to touch 'signature' models unless there something unique that is only offered in a signature model or its plain nearly perfect for my own needs/wants, The signature on headstock? Hell NO

All the best to all as always :)

That's interesting and not for good reasons, So the MM has not been stoned properly, Sorry I meant dressing and/or at the store? For that sort of price its not saying much about their QC! I only know what the MM Petrucci models are like to be honest and they've all been consistent and consistently too expensive for my wallet. Might try some random others out of curiosity

Post

Yeah, it's gotta go back but I LOVE the neck profile. Maybe it's just this one. I got a good price on it too. I really want one with this 41.3 nut. I thought about a Luke3, but the one they had didn't really turn me on. The Petrucci's have two issues: 43 nut (ibby size) and painted necks. If I'm going to have ibby sized, then I might as well play an ibby! The fender is wide, but I don't want that guitar as an every-down player. Just for strat sounds.

The thing that makes me made is I didn't even notice it at first :x How does THAT happen. And it's not horrible, but it's just not what I'd expect.

At this point in time I SHOULD take both of them back and concentrate on one more hybrid guitar, but which one would that be? You guys in the UK/europe have it better than us. You can get so many guitars that are just brutally hard to find over here.

There's Suhr, Mayones ARE WAY WAY out of any dreamable price range (5000+ usd!) but that axe palace NEVER has caparisons that I want.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I believe you and I must suffer from the same ailment! When you find help, or some kind of therapy that actually works, do let me know :help:

The new (2013) '50s Tribute Les Pauls really got my attention too 8)

I think Gibson must have stepped up their building and/or quality control at the $1000 price point. I was just in Guitar Center playing the "gold top" version of this and it was smooth as silk; very comfortable to play, with a buttery neck. :tu:

The P-90 sound and vibe is something I'm fond of, even though I've never owned one of these. I neeeeeeeeeeeeed more guitars :hyper:

Man I am envious of the gear you guy's over the ocean get to try out, I think in reality it simply because of these exceptions rather than the rule's so to speak make it this way? As there is a lot of stuff I'd kill to try or in many cases just save and buy if the prices were more reasonable with import...etc.

I hope you get to try as much as possible that you would like to, Both you/everyone. Some things if I have to then I will/do travel well out of my way to do so if I'm able. Its shit having no driving license and no wheels :(

I sent a new ebay'd guitar back last week , Im done !! I'll go to a store next time , spend some quality time , probably more money be it used or new and get a good one if and when I buy ever again , I like buying used over new because you'll never lose money if you sell it again and if you trade it in it will be a minimal loss . I just find it amazing how you can have 2 identical guitars and they sound and play totally different , so be it Martin , Fender , Gibson , Larrivee , Breedlove , etc etc . I guess its like the wand shop and Harry Potter . Sometimes the guitar/wand chooses you .

Post

Yeah, I like trying it in store as opposed to ordering online (though clearly I've done both)

The thing keeping me from a Suhr? It's not as much the price as I've never played one and have no clue if indeed I'd like it. You'd think as many people who love them I'd be blown away, but how do I know?

I feel I've wasted precious time and money by not just ditching these others and biting the bullet.

Maybe I'll take them back and get this!
