Midi inline view has a maximize/minimize button that allows the piano roll to maximize to full screen. There's the option to close that view and also the option to revert back to the old ways.

Maximize to full screen would contradict the inline approach.
The only benefit of inline editing would be to see things in context. For this to work properly, various zoom modes are required.

Ah, quite an understatement. While it *is* extremely useful, Sonar apparently continues to incrementally creep towards what seems to be an inevitable demise: death by bloating. The exponential increase in patched together features, and the outdated layers of dialogue-base UI with which they do it, are fearsome.

I'm annoyed, and I keep thinking.........what the hell are any of these "wanky" synths used for anyways?

Vsampler may have been too complicated, but it's ALLOT better than these cheeeeeessssy cheapo's...........

I'm a little curious about the verb........

I'd bet it will be. Sonar is by far the most cracked "big" software out there. Stienborg, digi are the other biggies.........and they dingle dongle.........

When I did pt mpowered, it has a dongle........it's really not that bad.....at least it's included.

I think the convo reverb is what happened to Pristine Space Light.

it's still not a looker but the specs look great!!

I still prefer Logic though :D

One of the pleasing things for is that I will be able to order direct from US for the upgrade and save some money in the process.

Also, it is looking like a pretty cool upgrade.

as if you couldn't use vst-plugins with Sonar for the last five years or so...

yup and that's possible with Sonar since V1 (better than with any other sequencer I know of) - I think they just added it to satisfy Tracktion, etc. users who think about converting to Sonar...

If it has better thought out midi editing, automation a la Logic and most importantly : if the per clip effects are activated upon playback and not only when the relative clips play the per clip feature will be useless. And while they're at it why not make the track effects only active when audio is passing through. Still i must say this update looks impressive.

i', very very excited about this, and will order directly from cakewalk as soon as they lets us europeans do so.

the roland v-voice thingie. anyone know if it is capable of doing VocalAlign tricks?

Yeah well, I'd like to know how this is supposed to integrate flawlessly anyways.

I think such things would be implemented best in an "in track" way, rather than as a plugin. Samplitude probably has got it more or less right.

how does samplitude do it?

I could definately use something that does ADR editing quickly :)

Post

Well, in Samplitude (I don't own it, so I don't know exactly) things are done similar as in Melodyne, as it seems. So you just have an extra editor with a grid and all that, rather than an extra plugin.
