btw, does anyone know what the deal is with the Samson Rubicon Ribbon monitors? When I saw the words "ribbon monitors" I was scratching my head and thinking of ribbon mics, but I know it's got to be a different type of design?
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

I guess it might be something like the ADAM P-11 for instance, who have something like a special ribbon Tweeter for the High end...
But Samson might on one Hand seem like a bargain, on the other Hand it might be cheap.

I have a pair of samson rubicons
they have a ribbon tweeter but it is a different design from the adams (which are folded or something)
they recieved a good review in tape op and sound on sound
I like them too, but they're my first pair of monitors, so take that with a grain of salt

i read in mureous sources that german mag called "keyboards" did a shootout of 25 different nearfield powered monitors, however i could not find a translated version of this
anyone know if a translation exists?
right now im stuck (dillema) between getting a pair of dynaudio bm5a's (1200 cdn$) or a pair of mackie hr624's (which i can get from a friend used for $800 cdn)
also gong to supplement them with a sub (either the tapco sw10 or krk rp10 not sure yet)

Since when did Edifier make monitors? I thought they only made multimedia speakers which are ok for home entertainment purposes...not suitable for audio monitoring.nordvectron wrote:is Edifier monitors a good choice ?

Has anyone tried out the Alesis M1 Active 620's? They are peaking my interest but i cant find a pair to demo, or any reviews. I made another post that has links to reviews of the 520's here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134300
They are very positive overall but still none to be found for the 620's...
