Agreed. Say what you want, I know some Waves plugs aren't as fresh as they used to be, but the mastering plugs are quality stuff, and they're standard issue in mastering houses, so...ttoz wrote:..For mastering? you must be joking. the waves mastering processors are incredible. the multiband linear phase, the L3. All very very cool stuff!
I do recall, though, that I did an A/B comparison with LinMB/L2 and the BuzComp Series and I was pleasantly surprised how close I could get them! They seem to be modelled after the Waves suite, though.

Buzzroom plugins are very good. The Linear Phase Plugins from the Mastering-Bundle are great alternatives to Waves. The Brickwall Limiter isnt better then Voxengos Elephant or then the TBL Tubelimit, but its playing on the same level.
Only with the "Old" buzcomps (vintage) I become not the results I expected. There I missing a levelmeter for gainreduction display or attack/release times in ms. May be I need more time to find out how it's working.

That's right...now, I forget: Are you supposed to use the L3 and LinMB? Multiband limiting the multiband compressor?ttoz wrote:...don't forget the L3 is a multiband maximizer which is rather sweet
Oh, btw, I tried to recreate the 1176 effect on those drums. I could get close to the 1st sample, but as expected, nothing like the 3rd. And you can actually see and hear, in the 1176 samples, these kinda perfect triangular waveforms. Very nice.
