Just tested these new versions,
Wavelab still crashes. It happens when I start playback and stop it, and start it the second time. Like always, it results in a total system hang.
During the that one possible playback I was at least able to verify that changing parameters doesn't result in a crash anymore, which is an improvement.
See my previous post about samplerates and buffer initialisation.

I strongly recommend waiting until playback is stopped before shoving all the instances to level 5!
Sometimes it works okay during playback, but at other times, some hosts go bananas with all the massive recomputing going on for the level shift. Once shifted into high gear the playback resumes just fine.

The Mid/Side thing is also bugging in the PLParEQ4. Stereo works fine, mid works but Side doesn't seem to do anything any more.
Maybe we should try to start a new thread with a bug list and specific problems with good descriptions or a dedicated beta team? This plugin is far too good to be left in the trenches of buggy software!
Cheers!

Whatever it takes, but I'm sure that won't happen (PLPara being left in the trenches). Not if we can help it!!bmanic wrote: This plugin is far too good to be left in the trenches of buggy software!

Side not working? Sometimes when a host gets overloaded I have noticed that it skips putting out one channel of left/right. Side is treated in the right side, while middle is left.
Some hosts really don't like the overload...
But nothing was changed in stereo/middle/side processing. All the changes had to do with the DSP core, memory allocation, and faster algorithms... Left and right sides are sent to the core separately. But same core, nonetheless...

Hi David,
I can't bring the quality above 1 without a crash in Nuendo.
Best wishes, FRitz

Hi David,
the whole thing doesn't work right. The stereo-side-middle slider doesn't work right and all the filters are not working.
Best wishes, FRitz

Wow... I'm sitting here enhancing side just fine in T2. Are you using version 1.15 (the latest)?

I just re-downloaded the file and still have the same problem. Can't EQ the side at all, just the middle. Well, I'm off to bed now. I'm pretty sure this old crappy p3 laptop is half of the issues. I'll report back tomorrow when I can test on my main computer.
David, get some rest too man.. you bloody well deserve it!
Cheers and thanks again for this plugin!

It says 25.10.2005, 05:31pm in my windows explorer. As it's in the middle of the night here (3:35 am) this must be your date. I downloaded them after you wrote that a version 1.15 is available. BTW, where can I see the version number? No about box or no info in the files AFAIKS.

And now I'm doing it in Cubase SL (1.06) and the load is hardly showing at all in the VST Perf meter... Level 3. System meter is showing 3% load overall... (doing Side +11 dB PL-HIPass)
Nuendo ought to be running even better than this old Cubase SL...

Yeah,
I'm off to bed now, too. Thanx again David, very good sounding EQ!

No, Nuendo2 has the same audio core as SX2. SL1 was different AFAIR. BTW, I mostly tested the warp algos as I like them more.dbmcclain wrote:And now I'm doing it in Cubase SL (1.06) and the load is hardly showing at all in the VST Perf meter... Level 3. Yes, I ought to put a version visible somewhere. Not sure how to do it when the VST host provides the GUI. Just looked at the VST Plugins Info pane on Cubase and all it shows it the date modified. I'll give it some thought. The VST host can tell you because I report it back from the plugin...
