I saw Merzbow live at ATP earlier this year. A much needed hour of catharsis. There was a guy just in front of me holding on to the barrier screaming for the entire 50 minutes. I caught hold of him a little later and asked what he was saying, since I think gaining insight into people's listening modes can be quite valuable. "I don't know", he said. "I was in the zone".
