I mean the individual note colors in the piano roll.

Well, I was hoping this thread would be contributed to by people who know FL well. I agree that lifetime upgrades are a GREAT incentive for FL, but I don't agree that you should expect them. Upgrades take time and money like everything else. The cost of implementing new tools and research might be really high, so paying a nominal fee for the all effort it takes may be worth it...if you think so. if you think about it, its the better part of a year's work. I have the boxed v5.0 and will be upgrading for sure.james0tucson wrote:It depends on how you regard the upgrade program. I don't think of it as a free gift at all. It's a big part of the reason I bought the product, which I would never have done if the vendor charged for updates. The update is a crucial feature of the product, and not some extra, unexpected thing. It's actually on the bottom line of reasons they got my business in the first place.smart wrote:how could I not pick this option when I didn't pay 1 cent and got a bunch of new useful improvementsFL6 has far exceeded my expectations for an upgrade.
Fortunately FL'ers can laugh at such a thread, but I think the upgrade-fee-bound Cubasers and others would take this topic a little more seriously for their stuff.

double_e wrote:THERE IS A BUG: Discovery 2.5 Gives a Strange Sound in 6. In FL 5 you have NO problem like this. Try it with the "Vengeance Bank" for Discovery (Preset: LD ESCAPE) Its easy to hear with that. Just compare it with FL 5 and FL 6. Im verry upset now. Almost all my projects were with Discovery!
Bug nr2: Minimoog isn't workin properly when the CPU is high.
Because i have a project with 76% cpu made in FL 5
when i open the same project in FL 6, it wont play my bass of minimoog...
Damn FL 6 has to many irritating bugs
another bug: M1 and Wavestation still haves the same Latency bug in FL 6 just like in FL 5
ANOTHER!!: All plugin's that are created with UVI ENGINE (Machfive, trilogy, stylus, Ultra Focus etc etc.). is stil not compatible. You know THE FAMOUS Latency bug of FL... WHY DONT THEY FIX THESE BUGS MANNNN IM GOING CRAZY....!!! (This has nothing to do with my soundcard: M-Audio Audiophile 192)
Sheesh! How many times am I going to have to say this!!!!!

So I set ASIO priority to highest in FLStudio and latency to 17ms (very high on the M-Audio ASIO panel) and I still get crackling. The sample rate is set at 44100. What other options are there to change? This worked fine in prior versions of FLStudio. What gives?

thank god. maybe it's cause i'm left-handed or something, but thinking i could not change this, i had already decided to stick with FL5 for that reason alone!Alxndr wrote:Mixer/Options/View/Tracks On right Sidefabi wrote:i want the fx slots to be on the left side of the mixer, not on the right side, damnit...![]()

i don't have many plugs that introduce delay, so the pdc in FL6 will be just fine for my needs. in fact i just gave it a try and it couldn't have been easier.
come to think of it, the only plugs i own that introduce noticeable latency are spaceboy, choirboy (both being fft based) and ozone3. all of those will be easy to deal with.
hm. i think i'm beginning to like FL6.

I would like to know the answer to this question also. I have had no problems with m-audio delta 44 on a couple of machines - p3 and amd, and a cheapo mobo-based one on a dell p4, with FL5 and 6. That is, after I spent a little time getting the audio settings/drivers setup correctly.james0tucson wrote:How about a list of non-shitty sound cards?tony tony chopper wrote:in short, ASIO is now in its own thread. I'd be one of the firt to bitch if I thought version 6 was crap, but so far I'm impressed and I've really been beating it up the last couple of days. Apart from some niggling bits that have already been yapped about, the new features are the bomb.fabi wrote:thank god. maybe it's cause i'm left-handed or something, but thinking i could not change this, i had already decided to stick with FL5 for that reason alone!Alxndr wrote:Mixer/Options/View/Tracks On right Sidefabi wrote:i want the fx slots to be on the left side of the mixer, not on the right side, damnit...![]()

I've been using FL since early 3.0 and the improvements with each new release have usually addressed the most frequent user requests.
Even though Gol will cry and moan about implementing new stuff like midi and PDC and write 18 posts about how it can't/shouldn't/won't be done he usually does it anyway.
BAck in 4.0 sumthin, I asked Gol if he could make the record button go from dull grey to bright red instead of from dull grey to dull white and he said "No because it doesn't match our colour scheme."
I said, I said "f**k that Gol", I said, "Function is more important that colour scheme!" I said, so I changed the bitmap meself and sent him a copy. It showed up in the next version and I said I wanted written credits and all future plugin upgrades for free including Sytrus plus $1000 US Dollars because I did that for him and he told me that it wasn't my idea and that he was going to do it anyway and to get fooked and so on, but he's been pretty responsive in that regard and so on whatever hahaha that Gol is so cute yeah?
Regardless, I'm pretty happy with this release.

I only said that up to then I hadn't managed to make a good-looking red record button, that's all. Post yours and you'll see what I mean.
Otherwise, a red recording button? Barely my idea.. barely an idea at all. I mean, aren't they all red? There was a reason mine wasn't. I then spent more time on it.

Am I the only one who thinks the color of one button on the interface is a, uh, not a big deal at all? Anyone wanna complain about the fruit logo having too many/little leaves or something equally silly?

Ack! I was using ASIO4All and it was working fine. Now, for some reason, I get the glitches with that too, and all I did was close Fruity, then open it again. f**k this, I'm going back to DirectSound driver until this gets worked out.The Chase wrote:try ASIO4all. it might surprise you and out perform your native ASIO
