...ran across this thread WAY too late...I should be in bed...and it shows (but this sort of thing is alway fun- you guys have some really nice takes on the material. I threw a lot of easy stuff at it and it may show, but whatcha gonna do? this was too tempting not to join in the fray

Just whipped this up. I only used Tracktion 1 and Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter. Lots of manual slicing and I don't know if it is technically breaks, but it was fun as hell to do!

then a few bars of feedback

the next section is a full on 7/4 glitch freak out

the final section is just chaos in 9/4

all sounds are form the initial break_me wav file.

Here's one in the terrordub stylee of '04.

Quite techy variation here, gave me a perfect chance to try out Reflex (Which I recieved this morning).

I made 3 copies of the loop, the original, bandpass filtered version (lfo modulated), and a phased version, which I chopped up with Reflex and arranged the create a techy groove. Because the beats are now rearranged, the filter and phase are making subtle jumps which prevents them sounding monotonous.

I added a send rack with reverb fed into a trancegate/chopper, to give the sound some depth without swamping it (the trancegate is working with the rhythm.

The whole lot then goes through a compressor and EQ.
