one more note towards a final instrument..

..some of us actually prefer the 'artificial' quality of an emulation, so don't make any variance implicit.

eg. i like to tailor the amount of natural variation to each fluff, et c.. sometimes i want it exactly the same, eg. in a hiphop track you might want a robotic sort of scary artificial sound..

sorry about sax loss - i'd be glad to accept source for codev/recovery :hihi: ;) (oc first i need to buy another xp box.. :/ )
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Guido,

I'm looking forward to trying this tomorrow.
Gotta agree with Rurik though. The rasp of a horn with some kind of tonal control would be fantastic.

Maybe another project.

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

I can't test it thoroughly right now, but I have to say I'm blown away by this. One of the most impressive emulations of any accoustic intrument I've yet to encounter. Simply brilliant.

This is un-freakin-believable, Guido! This one really puts the goosebumps on your arms for realism. I don't have a wind controller or velocity sensitive keyboard so I can't do a thorough test, but it is great. :-o :D :D

I'm up to my old hat tricks again.

I love you.

Ramped through some cabinet emulation, some tubeness, verb and delay...lovely madness, very expressive.

Love the new name here too :)

Yes "Milestones" is one of my favourite jazz songs. Especially as played by Chet Baker.
I listened to the demos and I agree that it is good. That last note is amazing.

I just threw this mp3 together VERY quickly ('scuse my bad playing, I'm a guitarist :))... http://www.filegone.com/8u2p

I LOVE the top end, can you plz add more body to the lows? I tried tweaking but couldn't get it... Thx

HI Guido, I've got to say that this PM Trumpet is amazing and also thank you for working on it! I typically use a breath controller on almost every synth (I used to play trumpet, so it's very natural and expressive to play a synth this way). I own 2 Yamaha VL-70m's, as well as 2 Korg Oasys PCI cards, and your PM Trumpet sounds better than both! However, I would stress for realism that you need to add portamento, so one can slide into higher notes like lead trp players do...think Maynard Ferguson. Also maybe have a scaling control for air flow...the lower ranges are not as responsive as the higher ranges at the moment. Also, I noticed that middle C,C#,D (Trumpet middle C) has too much of a pitch fall off when blowing stops on a breath contoller. One last request would be to allow the user to use aftertouch to contol vibrato, rather than the mod wheel. Again, GREAT JOB!!!!! PS. Any chance of making a Hohner D6 Clavinet...If anyone can, it's you. Thank you again!

heres my quick demo

http://www.geocities.com/tonyostinato/m ... tonyo1.mp3

thats played live with a wx5, no editing, just one take.

if he adds portamento i hope its an option cause as this kinda shows i like that regular way of doing the maynard runs up to high notes. real trumpet doesnt have portamento after all, you approach that effect the same way.

the only single thing i want is to be able to scale the pitch bend input to the model, right now it bends to far for me to do really realistic shakes and bends like i know could be possible.

i might try and do a pitch bend "reducer" using the midi input transformer in nuendo/sx.

sorry if you cant download the mp3, geocities doesnt give much away for free.

I'd love to have been able to A/B this with Arturia Brass, but I sent their demo dongle back last week. I'm really impressed, though. It's lacking in some of the detail of the Arturia trumpet, but it's much more generous in allowing extreme parameters. The Arturia trumpet really seems to be in a straight-jacket of what the Arturia designers considered to be realism.

I'm really, really looking forward to seeing the sax model available. Arturia's is shockingly bad.

By the way, Guido, I'm a huge fan and would like to make a contribution (and maybe get authorized versions of all your fabulous synths), but I don't have a PayPall account. PM me if I could send you a check in euros on a French bank, or a wire transfer, or a discreet bundle of cash, or something.

Wow! The Nobel prize is on its way.
Still think the name is misleading. This instrument at its best is closer to Dizzy or Arturo Sandoval.

BTW - I was wrong. It sounds great without a breath controller (In fact, it seems to sound better without!).
