Squids...are these NN-XT patches? Just wondering because if they are you could even layer them with the built-in Orkester sounds which would be WAY cool...

These are both NNXT and Combinator patches. There aren't any combining with the Orkester sound bank but nothing says that the user can't do that! In fact, this library is INCREDIBLE for layering with other things... Rhodes, Synths... imagine mixing that with lush Miro Strings, Choirs etc.

Miroslav Philharmonik owners can join this group buy if yo use Reason and we'll let you buy it for HALF the price that it ends up being in the group buy. How does that sound? You just have to prove you own Philharmonik is all.

NN-XT? Tiz a shame they are not combinators. Are you doing crossfades between dynamic volumes? Or keyswitches? For example going from piano to forte? How is this achieved with an NN-XT? I was working on an orchestral refill using Reason's vanilla orchestra and doing crossfades and keyswitching with the combinator and it worked amazingly well. In addition I was able to do crossfading with velocity at the same time. Using low (001) velocity allows you to control dynamics from piano to forte with a knob. Using anything above that limits your dynamic control between the current velocity and the max knob setting. For example if the velocity was metzo (064 or something) you can control dynamics with the knob from metzo to forte. To go from forte to piano, all you do is use velocity 001 and have the knob set on the highest setting and tweak it downward.

Oh and yes, reason has served me well, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has later hated it. Just a warning for those who might be on the same path as me. I am going to buy VSL OPUS Bundle orchestral library. I know the power of layering, but I'm sure VSL is great on its own. I can't replace Reason's library just yet though. I still need it.

Either you don't get that this is a particular sound developer's forum or you do and you're just not considering that at all. Comes off sort of rude.

Anyway, there ARE Combinators in the Miroslav Refills, also with velocity cross-switching, preset effects processing and other enhanced features beyond just the NNXT multi-samples. Again, this is designed FOR Reason users. VSL doesn't make refills. Let's at least stay on topic please. This isn't a thread about questioning whether people might at some point hate using Reason or not. This thread, about a refill, assumes that someone IS interested in sounds for Reason. When it comes to orchestral sounds for Reason, not only are the Miroslav Refills a great choice but there also aren't a lot of other full orchestra refills even out there!

So, back to people who DO like to use Reason and our support for them with these sounds that we spent a lot of time programming... I mean, this is the company forum section of KVR where we like to talk about what we are offering and we aren't here to provide a platform for people to come in and suggest not only competing company's products instead but even a switch of format as well!

If we can't stay on topic I may have to moderate especially since it was even requested earlier in this thread by some people who frequent the SR forum and don't like to see people blatantly disrespecting it. I really don't like to have to do that though to be honest.

If you don't like reason then just don't buy it, period!
Personally, I find Reason good because it's easy to use, fun and flexible, the sampler has all the features I want, it has very low CPU usage and is completely stable even on a low end computer, and lastly, because I don't have an internet connection, I love the fact that I don't have to muck around with challenge/response registration or dongles.
Also I'm interested to see what the next version brings to the table, and how the software will now develop.
But it's only as good as the sounds you put in it, which is why I bought reason drumkits, some toontrack refills, and will be buying this Miroslav refill, which sounds pretty special!

You are correct! These refills are special in a way that the VSTi is not....that's why I asked the question about NNXT...

I was asking because of the ability to layer Miroslav with things like Rhodes etc and because of the ability to use the Miroslav instruments in some interesting ways in Reason (like replacing some of the samples in existing combinators for one.)

Not enough advance notice to ask Props to announce it I don't think. But, at least it is mentioned on the Props forum. There's a couple of things we might be able to do to spice it up though. Remember to bump the thread in the Marketplace forum on KVR too. That's usually our main thread but this seems to be split into two threads which is fine. But we don't want people to forget about this opportunity to get 6 really great Orchestral refills for the price of less than two.

You know Squids, just a general comment, I do think GB's are best when they are available for more than just one platform. I hope Reason users take advantage of this GB, because it's truely a deal on some great sounds!! Still, one of the things that made the Pro Sessions GB such a hit was that it was so universally useful.

a demo refill with a couple of combinator patches would be really nice and might help convince more people to get into the group buy.

I for one am seriously considering it, but it'd depend a lot if the combinator patches sound good and allow for expressive playing (good crossfades, use for the modwheel? etc.)and aren't just instruments combined with a reverb unit.

the quality of the demos on the group buy site varies a lot, imo...

Wow... This is a great deal! I had originally decided to wait and try to get a more expensive orchestral library instead of Miroslav, but this is almost too good of a deal to pass up. Especially considering that the samples are still quite high-quality, and by July 11th the price should be at least less than or equal to $300 - around half the original price that it was when it was first released! I'm seriously considering this now...

Not sure. Maybe Kontakt but that's probably be it. Hard to say for now though. You never know.

so, time has passed, the group buy happened and i have miroslav on my computer

Unfortunately I havent had any time almost to play with it yet!!!
