No trance/acid
No doom//death
etc.
What if it's Happy Hardcore/Trance/Acid/IDM? Or Emo/Doom/Death?
/rant on
blah, blah, blah
/rant off
:hihi: Boy, are you easy to sucker into a rant or what?:hihi:
Not the easiest most of the time, but when it comes to passion and creativity I'm like xoxos.

I literally am working on that right at this moment, and not for this contest.

I'll PM you a taste later.

I was going to do it, but I can't find my drum samples that I always make DnB with, and it's such a pain in the ass to make those kinds of rhythms using GM sounds. Ah well.

Good choice of theme.

I'm noodling away. And no, it's not industrial polka, even though I've kept saying it as a joke the past few months...it's something a little more, uh...weird... :o  :hihi:

Next month should be... "make a video game tune" month.

Thanks mello and deaf. If the Highlife/Synthpop didn't work out, I was half-considering doing an Acid/Boogie-Woogie mix-up ("Acid Tonk") -- I mention that for the benefit of any frustrated pianists out there.

Oh, this month is gonna be a weird one...we've already had David Byrne as channeled by Weird Al...damned good, too...

Groovesys: It's fantastic! Mixing early prog (Yes with Tony Kaye/Colosseum/Nice) with HillybillyBoyz-what a great idea and what a stunning result! :hail:

This month could be even better than the last one: Two great entries yet.......voting:  :help:

YEAH! That's it... sometimes I don't even know what I'm going for, but I think you've pretty much nailed it with that description :)

(Actually David Byrne channelled by Weird Al is a song called "Dog Eat Dog". Worth looking up on iTunes).

And that's some mighty fine sequencer pickin' there, Groovesys. ;) I was thinking someone should do a New Age Funk tune this month, but you've shown that New Age Grass can work out mighty fine (no reefer pun intended there).

Yeah, same boat here.

The second one is even more startling... :-o

I've already tossed aside my Irish Pomp Rock [As opposed to pompous rock, aka U2] and my Orchestral Death Metal thingies...
but I'm still not going back to Industrial Polka...am I?

what this does remind me of is They Might Be Giants circa Lincoln/Flood/Apollo 18. It sounds very much like what the Johns would do, especially lyric content.

Sounds great.

How about some Drum'n'Bass+Rock+Tarnce? :D

(I think I'll need about a week until I'm satisfied ... but I've got a nice 12 second doodle in REAPER to work with tomorrow)

Guilty as charged :) Despite my best efforts to the contrary, I would say about 1/2 of my tunes wind up sounding like lost TMBG tracks and the other 1/2 don't.
