true words, but not any hardware unit does sound that good. Believe me. There is also much hardware shit out.

Lex and TC are good but too expensive, if you want the good sounding ones...

VST is nice and it is the best for project work, as you can save all settings of one project with one mouse click.

But when it comes to FX and synth quality, the real cool shit is still hardware...( there are some good VSTs and the fx gets better with every year)

At least I am considering going back to hardware, as the results were always better.

Saving a project is awful...

well that kick+snare build up with the v-verb did have a dense snare reverbation. I thought it was fairly impressive.

Not to mention the CPU processing you can save on with hardware.

that's very dense indeed, especially when taking account the fact you left so much hi frequencies there. That's a good sign. I'm becoming a believer.

Exactly my thoughts

maybe I've logged in the wrong bookmark, maybe this is the CM forum dressed in blue.

this verb is almost 20 months old. (and on my "to have" or at least "to check very carefully" list since the release)

hifiboom COULD have done a nice thing, refreshing our memories for this behringer unit and then leaving KvR users sadly pondering on their quality check control and diffused snob attitude.

it's enough for me. :hihi:

yeah you get the point....

The good high frequencies reverberation makes the unit that special.

Although you won't even notice the reverb while listening, you ll feel it sounds bigger....also at very low wet levels (lets say 10%) With a "cheap" sounding unit you ll have to cut away the higher frequencies(because fluttering etc.)

if I cut away the higher freq. I get a generally new impression from a preset....

It sound even more big and even more further away.... which is very nice....

It also reverbs bass kicks very good and without problems. Something I cannot say about too much reverb units....
Some people keep telling: you may not put reverb on a bass kick because that does not sound good.
Depends on the reverb unit, I would say.

I like the large halls most, but the other effects are also very good:

reverse
Gated
Ambience

All do what you would expect from them without problem....

I cannot play these sample files on my Mac.

WTF.....this unit is so so cheap yet it has great sound. What is all about? Tempted to buy this and use it in SX3...

Just a little bump...

At the moment I use it connected via optical spdif to my SB Live Platinum ... (which I build into my PC specially for this unit)

I need some replacement here... I am considering ESI 1010 which has a 8 ins and 8 outs ( analog ), so I could bind in even more external effects.
But it only has 1 optical out and no in...... mhhh...

Is there a good soundcard out there with optical ins/outs and good ASIO latency?

I routed the SBLive via SX3 as an external fx.... That just works fine....

And because it has a digital connection its like using a plug-in ...

no noise....
Sound is fantastic....
At least for the next period I don't have to check out every new reverb plug-in.

this may be due to they are 48khz instead of 44,1

The problem is my shitty soundcard SBLive only support 48khz, so I had to work with 48 khz in Cubase...

you can covert it to 44,1 and than it should work....

The V-Verb digital i/o works with every sampling rate 44,1khz 48khz 88,2khz 96khz
So I need little more professional soundcard...

No, it's the fact you use wma files, a windows media player file format, and he can't figure out how to play them on macs.

It has a digital input and output in Coax format. There are optical<->coax converters for sale, cost less than $20,-

Also, with converters like ones on that card there is not much quality lost when using the analog inputs instead of digital.
