The funny thing about something that emulates Tube EQs, Compressors etc. is that they are already on the spot for their functionality. I mean there's always different models though. But, for what it does TRacks really doesn't ever get out-dated. Neither does a real Pultec for example! ;) But, that said... some day you never know... still, nothing announced or even hinted at so really nothing to go by.
OK so you did not hear about it. Someone posted that a release was confirmed by IK sometimes very soon... but maybe he is just pulling a fast one.
Let's just say AndrewSimon's fears become realised and IK decide to redesign their products overnight......
No fear here, I own TRacks for a long time, it's a great plug as it is I just wish they fix the stupid preset scroll problem and I wish I could push the compressor a little harder.
By the way I got the best deal on it..... FREE with the purchase of Amplitube1 (way back in 2004)

I've finally gotten around to installing and trying out the Amplitube 2 demo here at home, and my GOD, this sounds GOOD!!! I don't know if I'll be able to live without this...Squids, I think you'll have some of my cash heading your way soon. This thing is just incredible!!

Am I insane, or does this sound lightyears better than Guitar Rig?

The former "Studio Bundle" was TR, ST2 and AT1 but there's no "upgrade path" for that bundle...only for the individual plugs.
ooooo, good thought there as I am one of those people. my AT needs are taken care of, but my AMPEG and CSR needs are not. we'll see what the future brings......

Yeah, it's really the ultimate solution. What a difference any of these bundles would make in one's set up if they didn't have them is REALLY significant.

Oh and I think AT2 is better than all of the other amp and effect sim plug-ins out there. I really do. Of course, that doesn't mean the other ones out there aren't good but it is definitely my preference when it comes to that (and with Ampeg SVX there isn't even much else to compare to and I can't imagine anything better for bass).

Yeah, I'm not sure how AT2's sales have been, but it's too bad that they had to take so long to release it, I think Guitar Rig got a crucial head-start on the market (I realize AT1 came out in, like, 2001, but GR2 was a whole new ballgame). The only thing I don't like about AT2 is the IK dropdown menus and the buttons are too small to switch pages...and the CPU is pretty high, but to be expected.

Anyway, I ramble. Great plug, awesome price. Now I have to decide: AT2 or CSR...cos as good a deal as this is, I can't do the $600 for the effects bundle, no way.

Post

Get the effects bundle upgrade. ;)

Yeah the best thing for GR was the time it had. But there was probably more time spent on AT2, especially in the accurate modeling department so in the long run even if you have GR2 I think getting AT2 for it's models alone is worth it (especially in the context of an effects bundle where let's face it if you were thinking about getting CSR and/or TRacks then you can consider both AT2 and Ampeg uhhhhhh FREE??????). But, I mean, people DO buy more than one amp or effect pedal to get different sounds so there's nothing that says you can't have multiple software for guitar processing. There are some cool things GR can do in terms of modulation and stuff like that. I like it more for keyboards than guitar. But, AT2 is also incredible on keyboards so if you had to choose well...

What if beergeek, uh, I mean someone Laughing were to buy one of the bundles but only registered 1 of the products in the bundle? I dunno, say for example beergeek, uh, I mean someone were to buy the workstation bundle and only register SS2...would beergeek, uh, I mean someone be able to sell Miro and ST2 without paying a transfer fee?
If this is legit with IK, and anyone wants to get in on this bundle, but already has CSR, I would probably be willing to take CSR off there hands.

This discussion regarding the tranference/sale of unregistered software is very interesting. It just reminded me that I have a piece of extraordinary software just sitting here in the box unopened and unregistered. It was a duplicated birthday present. Ebay won't let me sell it claiming it to be a violation of intellectual property. How can I give someone an awesome deal? The company got their money.
It's regularily $995 and I'll let it go for $400. Then I'll put that $400 toward the Effects Bundle 'cause it is an extraordinary deal!!!! Oh hell, I'm buying it anyway. Anyone curious? Here's a clue...you can eat your carrots cooked or you can eat them...? And no, it's not a loop library.

Not sure about that one.

Oh and on the "I'd be willing to buy/I got something for sale" on used stuff if you guys can just try to reserve that for the marketplace forum that would be best. Thanks! But, we hope you buy the bundles from www.esoundz.com ;)

Thanks Dave!
I never knew there was a "marketplace" forum on KvR.
As soon as I sell this amazing VSTi/sample library, I'm ordering the Effects Bundle. It's an amazing deal to be sure.

Great! We appreciate the support. Remember that with registration record of ANY IK product at all (even the LE and SE versions) that you qualify for the UPGRADE version of the Total Effects Bundle or the Total Workstation Bundle or the Total Studio Bundle. It's an "ALL GRADE" type of upgrade so that will save you guys at least another hundred bucks right there (I mean, one could even use that $100 savings and BUY an Expansion Tank right there on the spot at the very least and be getting it essentially for free and still have saved). These are buying tips and normally this is for you guys to figure out but in this case we have a goal at www.esoundz.com to sell more Total upgrades than anyone because of the years of good service we've provided (also this forum) to any and all IK users. Theoretically we should be able to pull off that goal. In other words, this kind of bundled product and upgrade is MADE for a place like esoundz (really for any retailer that focuses enough on IK as well). So, we're very excited about it and want to help people make their way into it somehow... plus, to be honest I couldn't think of a better recommendation for a musician. I use ALL of these plug-ins all the time and they really are so musically essential to my set up that I feel good about recommending them to anyone.
