- I want to split without moving the play cursor. If I could hold a key to show a splitline over my mouse and click every where I want to cut, that would work well.
- I would like a similar feature to cut slices of samples inside a part into new pieces inside the part.
- I would like to be able to select

Hi Guys...
i was reflecting about enhancing the Workflow, and i thought about the ghosting option...
what'd you think if you would be able to "Re-Ghost" Midi & Drum Seq, so that they still stay different, but react on changes in the other ghosted Seq like they were always been ghosted... i really miss such a feature, that would allow you to do some variation, but still (or again) some fast editing...
waht you think ?

Honestly, I can see the merits but I could also see getting very confused (I image it would be confusing to program too).
Perhaps there is an even simpler way to get the same results?

Hm...another idea would be to code "multiple Midi Seq", like the former XT1 Audio-Sequence system...soma wrote:Honestly, I can see the merits but I could also see getting very confused (I image it would be confusing to program too).

would be great anayway for recording and re-selecting

+1 (and more) for these two.soma wrote:- I want to split without moving the play cursor. If I could hold a key to show a splitline over my mouse and click every where I want to cut, that would work well.

I'm used to slicing up my audio in the playlist in FL, where you can do that kind of thing easily (shift+click splits at the clicked place). Having to move the cursor, right click and then select "split" is very sluggish.

Jorgen-
Thanks! Just what I needed. Could you get this to work on it should work on samples inside of clips too and on clips in "edit" mode in the sequencer and pop-up.
PS (actually Jens told me about that too and I forgot to edit my post)

While I'm at it, there's another FL feature which I love to see in XT2.
In FL you can put an LFO in an automation clip. So you'd create an automation track and then set it to LFO in the options (where you can also select the waveform and speed, and weither it should add to the automation clip or multiply it)
It would be nice if we could do something similar with the automation you can add below midi clips. (if you'd add LFO's, don't forget to include a sample and hold one, I love those)

I thought of another one:
the ability to drag an audio clip from the sequencer directly into synth/sampler for use as an oscillator

+1! that would be awesome! especially if it were destructively added to the envelope and you could edit it.Kyran wrote: put an LFO in an automation clip. In general a quick and easy way to have more than one envelope apply to a parameter would be HUGE!

I'd actually like this for the existing alt+click split. As it is, XT2 is often too short on visual feedback-- dragging things from the browser to the sequencer with no icon or change to the cursor whatsoever feels completely wrong as well as looking quite unprofessional, for instance. I could also imagine that invisibly dragging connections between comps could feel quite strange to a new user.soma wrote:- I want to split without moving the play cursor. I never posted about this, but always thought it would be ace to be able to have an lfo track :soma wrote:+1! that would be awesome! especially if it were destructively added to the envelope and you could edit it.Kyran wrote: put an LFO in an automation clip. the clip would display the resulting waveform, and there would be automation lanes for waveform, speed, phase, retrig etc...

So- while posting in the "Good bye" thread, it struck me that it might be cool to have the option of loading plugins into the sequencer itself, instead of into the comps area the way they do now. Perhaps this could be a right-click option on sequencer tracks, similar to the way it is in xt1 now.
The LFO automation ideas discussed above sound cool too.
