I'm trying the demo out again, and am really impressed. I remember thinking it was cool before, but for whatever reason passed it by.
Anyways, one thing I would *love* to see is the ability to drag-n-drop wav hits from the host's browser directly into an SP. While I greatly appreciate being able to audition from Drumular's explorer, it's still just one more window coming and going. Dragging from the host cuts out the middleman, IMO.
Either way, I'm committing and ponying up this time! Would love to check out some skins...

I tried drumualr a while back and thought it was great, but i tried it recently with the latest update to Live 6 and it kept crashing Live. It may well be an issue on Abletons end (ooer mrs) but still, no good to me if it crashes!!
Think there is supposed to be an update coming soon, but i can't remember where i read that.

Absolutely - earlier in this thread Roy from RedShift states that a Drumular2 is in the works and even mentioned a couple of features - more pads per kit, more layers per pad..
I'm really hoping they don't go the same way as SonicBytes - if Roy could give us a little bit of confidence by giving us a little update (no posts since his last in this thread from Feb01)
Hello Roy? How's Drumular 2 coming along?

Yeah, Drumular is great. I hope it's not "finished" and finished

Good stuff Brok, but I think you meant to say "in this thread, one page back"!brok landers wrote:i once made a list of what has to be added into drumular in another drumular thread, here's the link, if someone is interrested:

I don't get why I can drag a sample into Drumular in One Shot mode, but not SP mode. Makes no sense to me.
MRDR: I'll try that, but what am I looking for? I'm not sure I understand...

MRDR
I'm checking this out right now; indeed, I can tell just by listening, the one shot is always louder!
Huh...I wouldn't mind so much, as OneShot mode allows drag-n-drop from the host's explorer onto the Layers. However, there aren't any real controls for this mode- can't reverse, adjust start/stop times etc... Also, why doesn't SP mode get a compressor?
Great, and I just paid for it a few hours ago. Now I'm feeling like I just wasted even more money on drum solutions I won't use. Story of my life! :-/

have you made sure that the amp env's attack is completely closed by default? also turn off the filter, or raise the cutoff to the max, also check the attack of the filter env/ set the ammount to 0 ...
is it still the same way then?
i can't test here atm ... pls lemme know ...

Yes, the default/minimum value for these parameters is 1.0ms.
I'm going to do a bunch of head-to-head comparisons with my samples; if the slight lack of attack isn't too bad, I'll let it slide. If it is noticeable and significant to me, then I just wasted $40.

i can't check here, but, even though it might be default 1ms, is that the smallest value? can't you drag it do be even smaller? just an idea ...jamester wrote:Yes, the default/minimum value for these parameters is 1.0ms.
if one cannot make it smaller, there's a work around:
you can give the amp env a very small decay (so that it might fit to the "blend-in), and lower the sustain. then rise the pad-level up again ...
this should work, though it's a bit of a pita ...

No, it's the smallest. That's why I put the word "minimum" after "default". The smallest possible value is the default value, 1.0ms.brok landers wrote:...even though it might be default 1ms, is that the smallest value? can't you drag it do be even smaller? just an idea ...
I'll look into that work around, but yeah that's way too PITA for me to be doing that every time I load a sample! :-0

Well, I wasted forty bucks!
Not only could I hear the difference within Drumular itself, but I also put it head-to-head with a "homemade" drum sampler I made in Reaper, using Reaper's built-in sampler. Drumular's SP mode simply lacks volume, fullness and punch comparatively.
It's not the money so much as the disapointment. Drumular will have to go on the back burner until the update comes out (hopefully). The synthesis stuff is still cool, but I use samples mostly.
