Sorry I havent seen this before. Is the sale still on? Two questions :
1). what sample libraries do you get with directwave?
2). Does it import Akai 5k/6k?
3). Does it support program changes? i.e. I should be able to scroll through programs or multisamples or whatever you call them, by sending Program Change messages through midi. This is the big issue for me.
4). Does it do pitch shifting and time stretching? How good is it compared to mainstream samplers?
5). How are the built in effects?
Also, as asked by a previous poster, if someone could write a comprehensive review detailing the main features of directwave, that would be great.
I'm really looking into Battery 3 and I promised myself I wont buy anything else, but these sales are seriously killing me. I'm a broke student now.

Directwave is FL's multisampler. It's main strengths (apart from VST sampling and preset-contained total recall) are that it offers a balance of strength and speed that FL is reknowned for. It's not as featured or advanced as Kontakt but it's highly intuitive, well-integrated, and FAST compared to most multisamplers.
I cut together a multi in about 6 minutes from about 32 samples.
Also, free lifetime updates, so...

I'd add that one thing that is really cool is that if you do any collaborations and the people you're working with don't have the plug-ins you have; you can load the VST in Directwave, sample it, and send off the wavs. It beats multi rendering of tracks. Works great for me.Toxikator wrote:Directwave is FL's multisampler. mahtazz, your question nr. 2 is answered elsewhere, page 2 or 3. Yes, there's quite some sample content bundled, in my understanding.
A question I got is: the site talks about import formats, nothing about export formats. I guess it's only wav then?

Too late; it updated itself about an hour ago, and IE just crapped out at the Worldpay stage (because it's shit)!JMC wrote:btw. There seems to be a problem with Firefox 2.0.0.1 and our shop. For now all we can advise is to use IE or not update to 2.0.0.1 yet.
EDIT: Okay, done through Paypal and all is well. DirectWave for $39, that's less than 20 quid!!!

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

I'm not developing the "import" module part of DW. Does ZGR files has an available public file format / technical specifications?.
