@DRDRDR:

i'm sure i'm not the first to mention it, but i just love the technical drawing you posted  i don't know why exactly, but it just cracks me right up every time i look at it.

oh, and electriQ, is the one.

probably not the only one who has said that either...

I had to check this out just for curiosities sake.. good job, great sound!
The first version did a little jump though when you crossed both HP and LP filters in the middle using control changes but it was a little smoother the rest of the way up and down.. this version is nice it has a better gui too but I'm not sure if it's as smooth running up and down using cc's than the first.. although that jump in the middle seems to have changed in characteriics? for the better..
Other than that I love this.. really nice sound, something a little different.

There still exists some extreme settings which causes my computer to choke as well. It's a matter of denormalization. I'll have a look into other strategies, right now I'm simply adding a very small DC value, which is then filtered out by the filter.

The latest version should remember its settings, at least it does here.

It's still not designed for any kind of automation. I mean it's not undoable, but I've designed it for a static purpose only.

Christian,

Still the bug. When clicking OK, the same window pops up a few seconds after :

Ok. Here multiple instances work fine. Maybe it's indeed a problem with multi core processors. Don't know. :?

WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF ABDUL ABACHA

Hallo Sire,

I am Alhaji ado Abacha, son of the late Head DSP Scientist of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Sanni Abacha who died under mysterious circumstances on the 8th of June 2003. After the death of my father, myself and members of my family including my mother have been put through hell with interrogations, on account of corruption and mismanagement of DSP research funds by my late father. My father was a corrupted man (he also cheated on my mother) but a brilliant DSP programmer who developed the ultimate filter. He called it the "ZOMG Teh Filtar" for some reason which I don't know. Just before his personal library was confiscated and incinerated by the officials, I found the following document which may be the only written reference to its existence...

Shit, I am too excited to type the rest of the letter!
HAHAHA
Christian, if you could integrate this drawing and the DRDRDRs drawing in the gui I would totally use it if for no reason but to chuckle when I load it up.

Thanks for this interesting plugin Christian ... never heard something like that.
But now I also know WHY I never heard something like that. Just became a hadache because of that "unreal" sound.

I have tried it on a single core Pentium M in FL studio 7, and I can see the same error message when adding another instance.

It's a very nice and very useful plugin though. Thanks a lot Christian.

Christian,

if you stick a linearphase mode to the rubber filter it'll tame the odd rubbery tail of the impulse a bit. in fact it'll "pre empt" it.

(I know you knew this already, just thought it might be a nice addition to the cool freebie)

:x :x :x I'm right now working on it. The problem is, that you first have to measure and estimate the length of the impulse response, otherwise you might introduce unnecessary ripple to the frequency response. Alternatively one could use a window function, but I'd like to implement it as linear phase IIR instead of the FFT/FIR approach.

Sorry for the tech talk here, but I had to speak about it,

Christian

was recently playing with this in matlab, letting it design the IIR based on very strict requirements of noise and ripple.

holy crap it's a long one at around 50hz with a no-corners cut response! gets completely out of hand below that.

Ok, I got the plugin working here in linear phase mode as well. Up to 768 dB/Oct!!! That's what I call steep ;-)
