I just realized I forgot to ask the "million dollar question" before I ordered ManyBass...
Does the basses go down to a low B (i.e. 5-string)?
I do a lot of heavier music and really need to be able to play as low as B on the bass.

You're in luck! All the basses are sampled down to a true low B. Not just pitched down, but an actual B string.

I was thinking I could prepare all the soundsets and presets before the VSTi download link gets sent out (For easier installation and for backup purposes.)
Could someone please let me know how the file system of ManyBass works?
In what folder(s) does ManyBass keep it's soundsets and presets?
When it comes to the presets I'm also wondering if ManyBass uses the ManyGuitar or the ManyStation presets (the MT Upright Bass and MT Acoustic/Electric Bass) and if MB uses the version 2 presets for the MT UBK?
If someone would be so kind to tell me this I could prepare for the istallation and get a clean backup on disc.

Follow the instructions to install, that came with your download email. It explains it all fully and detailed.
The ManyBass Soundset installer will put the soundsets where you need them....No need to worry. That is why there is a file to execute the install (as explained in the download email). Also the VSTi will ask where your sounds are once you install it and open it the first time.
As for the add on sets you purchased, they also came with instructions, but basically they need to be in their own folders beside the manybass folder. (The presets are specific to the instrument as with all VSTi... again the mails you received should explain all this)
Hang in there until you get the VSTi and you'll see how it all works.
Email me if you have trouble after that.

@Paul
Sorry, I just got excited.
Sure, I'll wait for the VSTi and then start asking questions (if needed).

Speaking of which...manytone wrote:Hang in there until you get the VSTi and you'll see how it all works.
I don't mean to be a pain in the you-know-what. If I come across that way I appologize.
Do you have a new preliminary release date for ManyBass?
(Once again: I appreciate your hard work and my intention is not to step on anyone's toes...)

Hi BaldByChoice
Still pulling my hair out here and about to change my KVR nik to BaldNotByChoice.
(Just kidding.... I can't go from hair that is most of the way down my back to Bald in one shot..... I would Freak out!)
We are working on it is all I can say. I'll get you guys the links for the VST part as soon as it is ready.
Until then PC Pre Purchasers can still email me to download the soundsets as they are up on the server and ready for you. This has helped greatly on spreading the server load out, Thanks guys.
Also we are still holding the intro special price until release happens.
Apologies again for the slight wait. It will be worth it.

I on the other hand have too thick hair to grow it long. I tried it once but I started looking like a microphone!
I know you are... Sorry for being pushy.manytone wrote:We are working on it is all I can say. I'll get you guys the links for the VST part as soon as it is ready.
No apologies needed. I'm certain it'll be worth the wait.manytone wrote:Apologies again for the slight wait. It will be worth it.

This thing sounds amazing!!!!!!
Man, i have sure missed a bunch of stuff being offline the last few months. The boss took my net connection away due to me spending all day logged into kvr. Well, that and spending too much of his money online. Seems i found another way to drop a hundy for him lol
How long is the intro special going to last? (he is away until Tuesday, which is why i am online today hehe.)
This sounds and looks fantastic manytone!

I agree - Greg's demos are excellent and the bass tones are great. Especially the deep tones - very impressive - nothing flabby sounding down there at all.Radjo wrote:This thing sounds amazing!!!!!!

What are the chances of the bug being fixed in real time?
I must confess I'm getting a little bit ticked off at the delay.

Hm, I would've preferred a timely release with a small bug in it... (if you needed months alone to find it, I doubt I'd find it anytime soon.)
Unless, of course, you discovered new bugs along the way
Anyway, not mad at this or anything, just offering a customer's view.

We announced an approximate End June release. It is approximately 15 days past that at this point.nasenmann wrote:Hm, I would've preferred a timely release with a small bug in it... (if you needed months alone to find it, I doubt I'd find it anytime soon.)

I don't think this is a major delay guys in order for us to deliver a product that is as free from bugs as possible. As explained before.... we found a couple of issues right at the end of June which threw the schedule off a bit. We are finalizing things now for the VST Installer. I'll announce when it is ready.
Funxi - we do the best we can. You know we are always here and we let folks know what is going on. We are just a couple of guys, from various places in the world and sometimes things happen that are beyond my control.
No excuses though.... That is why we said an approximate release date. We do our best to achieve that but in the end the product must be released "the best we can make it". Won't be long now and I'll have you guys the full package.
Paul
