No. When live 6 was hinted at was right after winter namm and the "intel macs" came out. (5.2 being the intel update) Then at summer namm it was announced. LIve six will most likely be it until at least next winter namm.

I'll bet my shinny 1 dollar bill I won betting against the release of logicpro8 for mondays "big" show on it :hihi:

I think more exciting than NAMM are the Intel price cuts supposedly happening next friday..

SUPPOSEDLY Intel Quad core will be under $300 USD (actually the quoted price is $266) and E6750 Dual core under $200 USD :tu:

I'm kind of skeptical of such prices (esp for quad core) but a price cut is a price cut... :hyper:

So I DL, make sure it's something I need or want, THEN place it in the proper location afterward... Just a habit I got into a long time ago... since NOTHING goes on my desktop but my HD icons :)
HD's go in the dock, hidden, it screws the wallpaper (i have 13)

i really hope for korg to annonce a ZERO16 pro mixer with 4 ext aux sends(pre/posst selectable) 16 bus mixer with insert FX on every channels, all rotary encoders, 100 motorized faders etc

HI!

Nessie here to tell you about the great news about logic 8!

Logic 8 is almost a myth. :hihi: No doubt a new version will arrive, I doubt Apple have totally dropped the app, maybe the name but surely not the application.

I would be very surprised if Leopard is released and still by the end of 2007 the new version of Logic is not.

I think if no version of Logic is announced by Winter NAMM 2008 then I might start to think it is a total re write which it may already be. 100% totally new code from the ground up. Maybe developing a totally new application like Logic might take 3 years

the thing is apple is totally commited to iphone. They think that is the next "ipod".......so everything else is behind that......which means logic/whatever-it-will-endupbeing called.........

...I would think so - as far as I remember Ableton had presented at least Live 4 - 6 at the Summer NAMM...

Post

every year?

I guess that's close but what I remember was live 5 being winter namm/released sometime around the summer and then of course last year live 6 WAS announced at summer namm.....er, although again it was hinted at during winter namm since "ub's" were released....

Ah pooo, who knows! Was really just trying to be funny

Crickey, I sure as hell don't need another update

...Live 4 and 5 were announced in June, released in July; Live 6 was announced in July and released in October - however, as far as I remember it has always been the Summer Namm where it was announced. Look here:

I would really like to see an update (still on Live 5) that'll improve the handling of multi-timbral VSTis like Kontakt (although it's unlikely, they'll have to push their own Sampler instead), implements Recycle support (perhaps through an optional Slicer plug-in) and that would offer some new midi editing features (as this is still some Achilles heel of Live)...

Post

I'm really hoping to see news from Ableton at this summers NAMM.

There are several DJ features which I would love to see improved/implimented. Also very curious about the Cycling 74 partnership. Hopefully it has nothing to do with Pluggo.

Hardwarewise, I really, really, really want someone to finally come up with a guitar vibrato bridge that you could lock in case you don't need it, so all those country style bends would still be possible on a whammybar equipped guitar. Or break a string without having to entirely stop playing. The Steinbergers had something like that, but of course you can't put it into any other axes. I really wonder why nobody is coming up with such a thing for stock vibrato bridges. Oh, and I wouldn't mind if there was an adaption of Steinbergers TransTrem, either. God, how much I loved that thing (and being the stupid idiot that I am, I sold my Steinberger, *aarrrgh*).
How about TremolNo? Check it out if you don't know it... :)

oops. Got the month wrong.. thought it was June but it was July..

FWIW AMD just slashed their processor prices Monday (July 9th)

I'm tempted to go for an AMD machine now.. since they're sooo cheap.. but then again I like the c2d and it's performance too.. mebbe I'll wait for their pricecut to see whats going on.. hmm decisions... of a good sort! :D

Way too complicated. With my Steinberger (why oh why did I sell it???), I just put the tremolo arm down and things were locked. No need to grab any screws at the back. Just freaking perfect.
The TremolNo isn't even remotely "realtime capable".
Actually, Wilkinson had some locking tremolo as well, but it required adjusting tuning with some screwdriver, again from the back. Whenever you changed strings, the damn thing would've to be readjusted. As soon as you played in a cold/hot environment - same thing.
Well, one day someone *will* do it. I hope. And perhaps they'll copy the TransTrem function as well, which was just brilliant (did I already mention how much of an idiot I am for selling my Steinberger?).
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
